Last night ITV2 showed the SS in Britain, about the 14th SS "Galizien"
division
I'm still amazed that in spite of all the evidence presented the author M.
Melnyk
and the "others" are still denying and disputing the facts.
There were German documents that showed the divisions whereabouts and they
are adamant that
those documents are wrong. I suggest that if others can watch it they do

it shows the Ukrainian Nationalist's
mentality to insist that they are innocent of the crimes, they've even
managed to persuade their
children that they were the victims

I have posed this question to M. Melnyk, If you state that you're
Ukrainians fighting for a free Ukraine
and despise the Poles and all that they stand for. Also you have never
acknowledged the territory
being Polish, why then upon your surrender to the British did you all pass
yourselves as Polish citizens.

I'm awaiting his reply.

Recently, Gen Dobry had an article which I am very interested in
subscribing to learn more about the Siberian deportees and their descendants.
My cousin was a Polish officer in WWII from the Raclawice area. He
exchanged id's with a soldier who had died in battle knowing the Soviets
would kill him, too if they knew he was an officer; my cousin was captured
and deported to Siberia where he was forced to work for many years in a mine.
After Stalin's death my cousin was one of the prisoners who was released; he
was killed by the communists a few weeks later but it was after he had
returned home. During WWII his family were informed he had been killed in
battle so after 20 years of hard work and a starvation diet they did not
recognize or believe this was their son until he showed them a birthmark. He
lived and suffered under inhumane conditions for many years and it had
changed him dramatically.
I'd like to tell you what a great job you're doing publishing Gen Dobry and
how much I enjoy reading the many interesting articles; this article in
particular has special meaning to me and I hope to subscribe to this group
and perhaps learn more about the conditions my cousin and all the others who
were deportees endured under Soviet rule. I may possibly be able to contact
someone who's familiar with the area where my cousin was held.

Born in upstate New York and now living in FL.,
As you may guess I am doing Genealogical research on the Dzimitrowicz family name.
I read a recent article in Gen Dobry by William Hoffman. The article referred to your site and basically about the Kresy-Siberia group. As I have a (3rd) Cousin in Poland who spent some time in Siberia after the war, I am interested in learning more about these times and events. Due to the language difficulty I was unable to find out much in this area. It is my hope that I can learn a little more and have a better understanding of what my Cousin and her family went through.
