My grandmother Monika died around 1924- do not know illness or details of her life/death- my father born in Wadowice area and his younger brother Frank (based on his stmt from passengers arriving in Argentina) was from Katowice. I only got the KARTA for my father and he was pow 1939-til amnesty in Russia. About sister Anna all I know is that she ended up in Australia- do not have details of how or when and do not know her married name to trace relatives. About other brothers this is what I have so far: From the 1994 source: Jurecki, Jozef, born 14.11.1902 at Kamien, powiat Rybnik, kapral, died 27.03.42. Lists of Polish Soldiers who succumbed shortly after having joined the army of General Anders, buried in Uzbekistan in the town of Kermine. The original 1952 source lists the burial place as the war cemetery by the Kermine railway station, grave IV-5. I believe that the original cemetery was "moved" so he is now listed (in the 1994 source) as "unknown place of burial." The 1952 source: Jurecki, Marian, Aleksander Jozef - pseudonym "Orawa," porucznik, born 10.8.1911 at Stroze, powiat Gorlice, died 28.12. Marian was probably a "cichociemny" ("silent and unseen") one of the specially trained men dropped into Poland on a mission, for example, to support the underground soldiers. Medals Received: WAR ORDER Military Virtue, Class V, SILVER CROSS Military service: Unit: SOLDIERS 10th Polish Armored Cavalry Brigade I think there was also a brother Tadeuz, but I am not sure. So, I do not know where they could have moved to after Monika died and his father remarried- that is why I am hoping to find relatives in Poland and Australia that might know more to put the pieces together.. In the early 80s (I was 10-12 yrs. old I recall my parents sending packages to Poland often, but do not know to whom?
