If he was in the Armed Forces than the possibility of being captured and
sent to a PoW camp or a forced labour camp are very high
a lot of prisoners ended up in them, later to be disposed of in the
officer corps class.
As to the question of being grabbed from home or a field it could have
been the case that the NKVD came to the house looking for him and if he
was working in the fields he could have been taken from there after not
being found in his residence. It's possible that the info was extracted
from the remainder of the inhabitants.
He also could have been part of 'Sokoly' to which my grandfather
belonged, it also depends on his age as most young men were inducted into
the army between the ages of 20-22.

Dear
Group,
?
Can someone help me out please?

I'm trying to fill a gap in my fathers life. He
was 25 years old, farmer, living/working in Nachaczow [Nahaciv], Jaworow
[Jahaciv], Lwow [Lviv] when the 'September Campaign' began. He was
'grabbed' and sent to Siberia.
?
Now, I've always assumed that he was 'grabbed',
probably, from his home or the fields, BUT, I'm sure I've read
recently[somewhere on the Net], that at the age of 21 years, young men
enlisted into 'some sort of Army/Forces', this would be
1934/1935?
?
This is the old Kresy area, now West Ukraine,
right on the current border with Poland.
?
Thanks people
