That's not unusual. If it works, don't worry about it.
I did find in the radio's menu 519, page 20 but I already have it to 9600.?? I have three of these radios. Some of them don't have that delay, which I started research on why.
I would expect that to be for packet, not programming. 99% of radios set their own speed when programming.
I called RT Systems and said it does not have that feature.? I'm back to trying out the (obsolete) OEM software.
You can do that. Usually the original OEM software works better than aftermarket. And there's nothing "obsolete" about it if it's the latest/last version Kenwood released. I use G707 software in a Win10 environment often. Runs fine-no problem detecting the USB cable. What more do you need?
