I sent a message to Clairmont -- tried to send via web site to burghardt but nothing worked on their web site so sent an email.? Have to see.? I know like impossible to know what might be wrong with writing words and to really have any idea about the repairs and cost.? I do like this unit and mad at my self for 'breaking it' -- but I still don't think what I did should have done it in.
What I did -- had the unit connected to a Heathkit SB 200 amp.? coax from unit to amp and then dummy antenna.? It was not working (the Amp not going on)? and I had bought a 7 pin connector (ebay) because didn't have one - connector already made to provide RELAY and ALC.? Did this before? on another unit? and I had to resolder the cable - so thought bad cable and this was an easy /quick way to check.??
Best I can 'guess' is some sort of RF feed back ? and took out a chip or so ?? but I don't have a good technical ability with solid state - I do tubes..? So yep, like to get this unit working -- but alas - it is 1985 vintage and yes parts could be a problem... besides I think not easy to repair - quite compact.
OK... THANKS AGAIN? for your email and input..

Unfortunately, Tim is closed until the middle of April, but I expect he'll be going great guns when he returns.
Clairmont Skyland Radio and Tv Services looks like a very good bet.
Do check with these guys. I don't have a good sense of them but well worth a shot.
I'm sure there are a few others that haven't made it to my radar yet. Good luck. Charlie WB4FAW
