Hamlib rigctl error
When you say "Winlink", are you meaning PAT or Winlink Express under Wine? If it's the latter, Winlink Express has CAT control built in so if you're trying to run some other CAT control program there will likely be conflicts. If you're talking about PAT, using rigid #4 (FLrig) in Hamlib and configuring FLrig might be the better option. It offers a lot more control and is also the better solution if using multiple rig types. On Sun, Sep 1, 2024, 23:12 Demonmariner via <Propinquityslo=[email protected]> wrote:

Brian: I'm trying Pat Winlink. I might try Winlink Express, but have no experience with WINE to speak of. I might give it a shot.

Rigctl errors out as described, so changing the rig won't work. I'd actually prefer using flrig, especially if there is a way to get pat to use it without using rigctl.
?
Jason: tried removing libhamlib-utils, still got the error, and broke wsjtx along the way. Reloaded a backup.

As a bit of background, this is all about a portable uBitX system that I've been working on off and on for about 3 years and at this point it does everything I need except Winlink, which is a priority 3 at best. I just went through a fair bit of work updating from BAP to 73linux. It's working really well. I greatly appreciate the work put into 73linux, and thanks everyone for the suggestions. I will press on. |
Tried a few things this morning, on a backup sd card:
1. Uninstalled wsjtx, since it was installed from apt rather than 73linux.
2. Ran sudo apt remove libhamlib-utils as suggested by Jason.
3. Tried rigctl -l again and got the same error.
4. Removed and reinstalled hamlib from 73linux. Tested again, same error.
?
So no joy there. Tried reinstalling wajtx from 73linux, installed ok it appeared, but the app isn't there... Not on the menu and unrecognized command when asked in terminal. (That was why I went with an apt install last time, btw).
?
So nothing much accomplished. I'll put this sd card aside and put the one back in that mostly works, for now. Any suggestions appreciated, but no urgency of course since the system mostly works.
