Patreon:Re: [KM4ACK-Pi] PAT Menu fails treying to open localhost or 127.0.0.1

fwiw, for a week now I have tried to even delete and re-install the whole 73Linux enchilada.
just copying the script from a page of Jason's ...then into a terminal ,,,then get the notice that 73Linux is already a folder AND it isn't empty.

reminder: this all started when I tried to run Pat Menu and get varaHF ..then winlink going ...when the browser comes up, there is an error -refused access to localhost. There is no firewall online, there is no Proxy ...I've tried Firefox, Chrome and Edge, just for Kix.

Re: PAT Menu fails treying to open localhost or 127.0.0.1

Possibly. Shouldn't need to uninstall Pat first. Should be able to install right over the already installed version.

I am a bit confused though. By running the repair, it creates a fresh copy of the config file and restarts the Pat service. That should have worked.

Re: Linux 73 USB Wise Tiger WIFI

You need to properly name the interface on the conky config?

Re: Linux 73 USB Wise Tiger WIFI

I think I figured?it out. It's Conky not picking up the wifi. Yet it's picking wired lan. I'll search the group to find out about conky?

Later?

What does "ifconfig" give you? That should give you a list of all the network interfaces on your system. If you have a WiFi interface, it'll show up as wlanX (usually wlan0 if it's the only wireless interface). If you have a wlan0, then I'd say you have a driver issue and you'll have to figure out what wireless interface you have and find the appropriate drivers which should be fairly easy if you're running Ubuntu or Mint.

Thanks. ?Well, I¡¯ve run repair several times to no avail. ?This morning, I deleted all the configure file and rebuilt new. ?Still the same result. ?Is there value in deleting pat and re-installing??

Re: "ARDOP Modem FAILED to Start" Error Linux Mint 21.3 (x64)

Open Pat Menu->Settings->Current Config Settings

In the "ARDOP COMMAND", set it to what you use on the command line with FULL PATH. Next choose the update button. Then try starting it from Pat Menu again.

Re: PAT Menu fails treying to open localhost or 127.0.0.1

Jim, Your config file is corrupt. json is super picky about syntax. One character out of place destroys the file's readability. To resolve, open Pat Menu->Manage Pat Winlink->Repair Pat Config. That should give you a good config file. You can verify that pat is running with:
sudo systemctl status pat@$USER

Also, I notice that two ports have been changed from default.
"http_addr" was changed to 5050
"address" was changed to 4001
Unless there is a specific reason, these ports should be left at default. IF you change the "http_addr" port, be sure to update the Pat Menu settings to match whichever port you set in the Pat config file.

Linux 73 USB Wise Tiger WIFI

I finally hooked up my Lenovo Tiny Mini PC. I noticed my WIFI is not showing up. I've gone to Network > WIFI and connected to a known Arden Hap AC Wifi router.
I see my Wired Ethernet shown in Conky, however nothing in Wireless.?

This is beyond my Windoze expertise.

"ARDOP Modem FAILED to Start" Error Linux Mint 21.3 (x64)

I'm not sure what else to try here... I cannot get the ARDOP modem to start from the Pat Menu.

I can, however, get it to start from terminal with "ardopc64 8515 plughw:3,0 plughw:3,0"

arecord -l gives me "card 3: CODEC [USB Audio CODEC], device 0: USB Audio [USB Audio]"
?
I can also stop it using the "Stop Modems" command on Pat Menu but I cannot start it. Once I start it manually and then try to start it in Pat Menu, I get a notification telling me it's already running. I cannot, however, key the radio in Pat using Flrig.

I have looked through the group but everything I found dealt with the RPi and "armhf." I'm not intereted in "armhf." I'm trying to get this running on x64.

Does anyone have Pat Menu working on x64 Linux with ARDOP? If so, do you mind sharing your Pat Config?

Thanks,
Joel - W4JBB

Re: Xastir SignaLink Direwolf

Jeff

I have the exact same issue.? How did you resolve it?

Re: PAT Menu fails treying to open localhost or 127.0.0.1

So, background.? Just spun up 73Linux on a Pi4B 4GB with 64Bit RPI Bookworm.? FLRIG is working with my IC-705 and GPS is working with the 705, as well.? I've only tried to get ARDOP up and going at the moment.? I had Pat-Active in Conky and had the session screen showing in chromium, but clearly below something changed when reloaded the Config in Pat-Menu.? Also, Rig Control in Conky is showing off.? Also, can't get ARDOP to PTT.? Hopefully something below will stand out.

Below are the results from pat http and the config.json

k0jnr@raspberrypi:~ $ pat http

Re: PAT Menu fails treying to open localhost or 127.0.0.1

Jim, In your case, Pat isn't running in the background. Try running:
pat http
from the command line and see what, if any, errors are produced.

Bob, It could be the same in your case OR it could just be a port issue. Does Conky indicate that Pat is running? If so, open Pat Menu->Quick Stats and see what Port is reported.
If not, follow the advice above.

Thanks, a good start for me (I hope my Linux level will be up to it) and interrested also to try LinuxFX, as it is Rpiable (contrary to Wununtu)

Re: VARA/VARAC Image or script

VARA/VARAC Image or script

Hello Group,

It's been a while since I did tests with PAT/ArdopC. I see today that thanks to Jason and all contributors,
the projects have made significant improvements/added features.
I did a search regarding Vara/Varac on this forum but since I was away
for too long.. it comes as no surprise to be hard for me to glue all infos together..
For the time being, I want to concentrate on Vara/Varac with Rpi4/FT817/SB3002-A or Digirig (fitted in a
repurposed 12v small fridge, as a portable rack with AGM 22A battery ;)

May I humbly ask whether there would be a script or image doing this job, even if I won't be up to date with all goodies?

Re: chrony GPS time offset on Build-a-Pi

Although I own a GPS dongle, I find it more convenient to share my phone's GPS time with my computer with GPSd Forwarder on Linux and Bluetooth GPS Output on Windows. Setting up Linux is easy, setting up Windows is a PITA.

It's possible. I recall one particular POTA activation where my DT kept creeping higher and higher, up to around 2.0s, and a Pi restart didn't fix it. I am still sick here so I haven't had the opportunity to get out and test my changes yet. I have also not yet passed these changes from my Pi 4 8gb to my Pi 4 4gb and Pi Zero 2 W.

Do you run a Windows or Raspberry Pi platform for your roves? I use Raspberry Pi for most of my POTA and Windows for my roves. If you use Windows, I recommend N1MM with integrated WSJT-X for logging and digimodes, and BKTTIMESYNC with a USB dongle for GPS time sync. Another thing to note is that I had excellent luck using Bluetooth to network two laptops together with N1MM. Bluetooth was, in my tests, way more reliable than using ethernet between the laptops. As I recall I could not get Wifi working.

GPS time syncing is a fascinating topic!?
