That's a tad confusing... You say your WiFi is not showing up but then you say you're connected to the WiFi router...
What does "ifconfig" give you? That should give you a list of all the network interfaces on your system. If you have a WiFi interface, it'll show up as wlanX (usually wlan0 if it's the only wireless interface). If you have a wlan0, then I'd say you have a driver issue and you'll have to figure out what wireless interface you have and find the appropriate drivers which should be fairly easy if you're running Ubuntu or Mint.
