Re: Pi Build 2 Dierwolf crashes
I did. # Linux ALSA is complicated.? See User Guide for discussion. # To use something other than the default, generally use plughw # and a card number reported by "arecord -l" command.? Example: ?ADEVICE ?plughw:2,0 # Starting with version 1.0, you can also use "-" or "stdin" to # pipe stdout from some other application such as a software defined # radio.? You can also specify "UDP:" and an optional port for input. # Something different must be specified for output. # ADEVICE - plughw:2,0? I had removed the # from this one. I should have done this? ADEVICE ?plughw:2,0 # ADEVICE UDP:7355 default # # Number of audio channels for this souncard: ?1 or 2. # ACHANNELS 1 #ACHANNELS 2 Don Poaps

Thank you.? Since the RX station has to have FLMSG as well, this will not work for interoperability for those not using a PC and WinLink. If you don't mind beta software and are comfortable installing from the command line, check out this post. If you need support installing, the guys there should be able to help. -- 73, de KM4ACK

Re: #flmsg HF and 2M

FYI. I've used FLDIGI and it's programs with the Satern Digital on Saturday. I know that each station must have Flmsg on their PC. I did find that there is some EOC Communication use FLmsg with Winlink. My thought is what happens if an NGO is not equipped. I'll be glad when Pat Winlink Guru's can incorporate?Winlink Template, if they have regular email, at least they get text.? I'll be switching over from Windose to Linux on Emergency Laptops at the Salvation Army EOC in Abbotsford. Although running Linbpq to me is a royal pain in my mind. I can set up a Winlink Gateway in an hour but with Linux, it would be a month or so. 73 Don Poaps

Re: Pi Build 2 Dierwolf crashes
Jason It went to standby and then crashed. I looked for a log but didn't see anything. The?SD card in question had the original Pat Menu. I went and downloaded and install Patmenu 2. Orginal?Pat Menu did work. After I loaded Pat 2. That's when things went haywire. I've got a virgin, Buster sitting to be run. I'll load it and see if I have issues Deirwolf?Config and Pat Menu were filled out with the sound and callsign etc. later Don va7dgp Don Poaps

I am looking so some additional information (instructions) on creating a message using flmsg
and then sending it via ARDOP and also via 2M. Specifically, instructions withing the framework of the Build-A-Pi setup and using the ARDOP GUI and PAT Menu. I have a need to better understand the process for a? EMCOMM exercise. Thanks, Ed, KD9FRQ |
Re: #flmsg HF and 2M

You need to save flmsg file and file attach it in a message in Pat Winlink. The recieving station would need flmsg to open it. 73 Don On Fri., May 29, 2020, 11:45 a.m. Ed Bloom, KD9FRQ via <ewbloom=[email protected]> wrote: I am looking so some additional information (instructions) on creating a message using flmsg |

Need help Please!
Hello everyone, I'm new to the group. KM4ACK recommended posting my issue discovered while watching his youtube video:
I have a UBX-G6010 KY-172 (should be newest model), running ls -l /dev/serial/by-id informs me to utilize ttyACM0 in my sudo nano /etc/default/gpsd configuration.? Both systemctl is-active gpsd and systemctl is-active chronyd come up active.? I also have a blinking green light on my unit.?? I can't figure out why cgps -s, gpsmon -n, and xgps will not run / populate with data unless I unplug and reinsert my device.? Then they work.? I'm suspecting a port conflict.? I have 2 other bluetooth transmitter devices installed (keyboard & joystick).? I removed those , rebooted and it did'nt resolve the issue. I noted in the comments of the video at least one other guy having this same issue.? Today I tried running the posted command gpsmon -n. It takes quite a bit and then this comes up on the screen. tcp://localhost:2947 JSON slave driver> Only available in low-level mod (82) {"class":"VERSION","release":"3.17","rev":"3.17","proto_major":3,"proto_min Any help or suggestions anyone can offer to get this to work smoothly is greatly appreciated. I previously installed software package from DL1GKK's web site.? I note that overlay info on right side of my pi desktop goes away after reboot until I pull device out.? Then it magically reappears.? ?Might be software conflict?? Thanks 73 KM6QAQ |

I'm looking forward to one, but I think for me it would be better off as a desktop/test bed for playing with. Too much for a device to run a radio at this time. Most of this software works just fine on 1 gig, so the 4gig should be fine. I might have to order it and send it to a friends and have him sneak it to me so my wife does not see another Pi coming into the house. I've got a few 3's, 4 originals that are all running away doing their lobs. Like I say the 8gig will be my mini desk top. If I want to test any programs, Or Jason has gotten me into picking apart his scripts, so I can learn a bit. So it will allow me to experiment. There seems to be a lot of people upset about it for some reason?? I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. Steven |
Re: /dev/ttyUSB
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýAfter a lot of confusing fooling around on the inter webs and breaking my direwolf.conf repeatedly, I have a reproducible result.?Around line 463 there is a DWAIT configuration for transmit delay that is commented out. It is defaulted to 100...which is equal to 1000 ms which equals 1 second. (Text from the file...not my own timings). I uncommented all three lines of that section and was able to get one solid packet sent. So I tooled around with it some trying to find the sweet spot. I started out gentle and only gave it a setting of 110...two packets through...and then it stalled until I hesitantly poured some gas on this fire and cranked it to 11. (220 to be exact). I can get three solid connectio. Requests and a DC command through. Now I¡¯m not claiming it¡¯s perfect. There are still several ¡°misfires¡± but it is a start. The problem is synchronization between PTT command and audio out to the radio. If anyone has any further insights, I¡¯m listening.? I hope this helps someone down the line. Re: Connecting Android tablet to Pi Model B
Not sure how much help this will be for a Pi 2 but this might be useful
This is the method that I use to connect my iPad to a Pi3 or 4 when in the field with no internet. The hotspot will allow for both terminal access and VNC. This is the same hotspot that is installed with build-a-pi. -- 73, de KM4ACK
