I am now in the process of switching over all my Pi's and VMs running Debian family OSs, even at home.
If you would like, I can write up what I did for my gpsd/chrony/time server portion to allow all
my machines sync a standard time, without internet access ( or with home network )
BTW, I am an Enterprise level 3 Help Desk by trade. I am a VERY lazy SysAdmin
(meaning I will work VERY hard to minimize the need to do lots of hands on
maintenance). I am just getting into serious Python (part of another project I help on
motionEye and motionEyeOS). I am by no means a 'programmer', though... <LOL>

The TNC3 uses channel 6 instead of the default (1). Change your rfcomm command to:
sudo rfcomm connect /dev/rfcomm0 MAC_ADDR_HERE 6
Note the "6" at the end of the line.

My port was originally set up at 5000. Ran that thing. Still is. Something isn't working though. It's broke. LOL.
Run these commands from a terminal:
sudo killall pat
pat http

and post any errors. The above commands stop pat from running in the background and restart pat manually. If you don't get errors, leave the terminal window open and open the web browser. Navigate to 127.0.0.1:8080 If that doesn't work, try 127.0.0.1:5000 The correct address depends on your setup. Let us know which one works.

Re: BAP Update Errors

 

Run these commands and post any errors:
sudo killall pat
pat http

This will stop pat if it is running in the background and manually start it from the terminal. If it starts without errors, leave the terminal window open. Open the browser and navigate to 127.0.0.1:5000 and you should see the pat inbox.

That document is two years old and out of date. See the official Direwolf manual for compile instructions if you aren't using Build a Pi.

Running current version of YAAC 1.0 beta165 (24 SEPT 2021).? When I shut it down, it restarts itself a second time.? After shutting down the second time is stays down.? Any ideas?
This might be isolated to just this Pi.? Nope.? Does the same thing on another Pi so it is YAAC or configuration related,
Report this to the YAAC group for the developer. He is usually very quick to respond. /g/yaac-users/topics

That is what I use with ( I hate to say it a full size keyboard and mouse with one USB dongle ) when I go out ... I do have a very small BT KB w/touch pad when I need to be lite weight =)

I think my port showed up as 5000 in the PAT > Settings > Current but when I did a pat configure it was port 8080.? Changed it to 5000 there and stuff started working again.

Thanks for you help. The Old Version installed properly on the new PI OS, But the new OS did not see My IC-7300 USB Codec (Rig Control Worked Fine). I¡¯m going to just Download the Old Buster OS & see if I¡¯m met with more success¡­¡­

Can't install Direwolf with BAP update under Bullseye

 

I just built a new system using a fresh install of Bullseye.? I tried several times using BAP updater but Direwolf does not install.? I managed to do an install from the command line, but it does not show up in the menu.

Without really trying them out, it seems that several other apps installed correctly.

Anyone else have this issue?

I've found this to be related to how the program is closed.? If the window is closed vs program exited, seems to be the deciding factor in this behavior.? Your mileage may vary.

In Part "Raspberry Pi Build" I can't seem to get Direwolf installed. It can't get past the "make" command in the BAP instructions. I need some help here.?
