Running The Update tool and invoking the Patch Tool ends in an endless loop at the end of the Update Tool beginning with the following window: It looks like you didn't select a patch to apply. Highlight the patch you would like to apply and then click "apply patch" -- 73, de KM4ACK

IC-705, Direwolf, and Xastir
Hey everyone...
So, I've been trying to play a little bit with getting my IC-705 to work with Direwolf & Xastir. In addition to Jason's vids, I've also found this site helpful: Here's what I'm noticing... (and why I think I may not have something set quite right). With my 705s volume turned up a little, I can **hear APRS traffic with my ears, but not everything I hear is showing up in the Direwolf window. In other words, it's like I'm hearing traffic with my own ears, but Direwolf is missing it. But it's not missing everything. It has a couple of close by beacons listed [and they show up on the Xastir map]. I have my radio set to FM-D, 144.390, obviously. I'm running at full 10w, and have it hooked to my outdoor Tram dual band antenna (granted, it's only about 10ft up.) If anyone knows of some 'setup notes' that are already out there online for this type of configuration, feel free to send me a link! T.M. |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Jason, Running The Update tool and invoking the Patch Tool ends in an endless loop at the end of the Update Tool beginning with the following window: The work around I am using is to "X" out of the window or <CTL>"c" out of the bash window.? Not invoking the Patch Tool at the beginning will not end in an endless loop. I know, sorry, one more challenge!? Thank you for all you do! 73 Herm, W7HRM On 9/12/2021 8:53 AM, km4ack wrote:
Any suggestions or wait for another patch?Patch now available :-) I also created an issue ticket so this can be addressed in a future version of BAP. |
Re: Sub RS-232 adapters and Kenwood ts-2000
I'm not sure about the TS-2000 DB-9 port; but using the FT-847 I have needs using a NULL-modem ( reverse TX /RX < pin #2 and #3 on a DB-9 >? you might check the pinout on the TS-2000 ..... just a FYI =)?? The original RS-232 pinout was 23 pins with the bottom row being ground =) On Sun, Sep 12, 2021 at 12:24 PM James French <w8iss1@...> wrote:

Sub RS-232 adapters and Kenwood ts-2000
Cross posting to see if anyone has any input. ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: James French <w8iss1@...> Date: Sun, Sep 12, 2021, 11:55 Subject: Sub RS-232 adapters and Kenwood ts-2000 To: <[email protected]> Read the messages about the differences in the 232 protocols and saw that their was different voltages mentioned. Always seemed to work for me till now. I have two ts-2000 that the 232 connection does not work in any more. Both times have been two different sub to 232 cables. At first they worked and then the next time I went to utilize wsjt and my 2000's, no replies back from them at all. Both times have been two different prolific type sub interfaces on raspberry pi's. The sub cables are recognized in lsusb so no issues there. But the 2000's are not recognized on any of my systems, legacy pc's or pi's. Also have a ft-847 that has only been connected to a pi via a rigblaster advantage with absolutely no issues at all. Won't be utilizing the sub to 847 in any near future. Even have tried the 2000's via the rigblaster with no response. Is there something about the voltages that zapped the 2000's that I should be aware of? One other thing that may help is that this has happened AFTER powering down a pi for a reboot. Could this have caused this also? Thanks in advance, James W8ISS |
When I first built the Pi4B with BAP 3.08, the frequency would populate into the Pat window box but a red line would appear through the box with an error message indicating a failure to communicate with the radio.
After I did an upgrade of BAP to v3.1 (with all the upgrades), Pat populates the box and goes through a full attempt to connect to the RMS - as though it is actually controlling the radio and getting CAT responses from the radio. Of course, the connection fails because the radio is never tuned to the frequency nor is PTT activated. Is there some other date you need to assist me? Thanks, George - AK4NG |

If you run into the same thing on the new system, let me know. I wouldn't apply the patch for hamlib4.2 until I tested the new system. You may not need that patch. ? -- 73, de KM4ACK

I just ran command "arecord -l" and it didn't list anything. Then it hit me to plug a device in, so I grabbed a pair of USB headsets and re-ran that command and now it shows it. I'm building this Pi on the desk and I don't have the radio ready and plugged in. I have to figure out how I want to interface the Alinco DR-135 Mk II.?It will throw a wrench into things if everything isn't connected. Direwolf expects a sound card to be connected when it starts. Double check me but it looks like the Signalink supports your radio. If so, it is a super easy way to interface the Pi to the radio and the Signalink will handle PTT to the rig. Very helpful for rigs that don't have a CAT interface. ? -- 73, de KM4ACK

FLRIG works fine with FLDIGI and WSJT-xIn the pat connect screen does the frequency populate into the box when you choose an alias? If so, does the box turn green or red? -- 73, de KM4ACK
