I'm on Android and I'm using the GPSd Forwarder.? It's really simple to use once you get your Pi set up to receive the GPS data.? The app has 2 fields, IP and port.? Just put in your Pi IP and the port to use, I think that the default is 11123.?
Build-A-Pi Update menu

 

I updated my old version of Build-A-Pi and noticed that I do not have the Update selection to my Build-A-Pi menu.
Tried to reload Build-A-Pi but it states directory already exist. Also, it would be nice to have a selection to know what version from the Build-A-Pi menu.
I have been running updates from the File Manager folder which is the only method available at this point.

The screenshot for pat menu setting is unreadable. Run this command and copy/paste the results here please:
cat ~/patmenu2/config

Which version of rigctl do you have installed? Run:
rigctl --version

Is FLRIG open and running before you attempt a pat connection?

Hey all, I have a Garmin Nuvi Bluetooth GPS. Has anyone had any luck with getting it to work with the BAP GPS Tool. Would appreciate any help. I can use my phone's GPS but I want another option in case I don't have any cell service. Thanks, K2PMD.
Paul,

I didn't have a bluetooth GPS to test with when I wrote the code. I had one other ham that tested it but I don't recall the model of GPS he was using. You will have to manually connect the GPS to the Pi using bluetooth before using the GPS update tool.

You don't need phone service for a phone GPS to work. You don't need phone service to to share GPS from phone either.

If I understand correctly, you don¡¯t need cell service for your phone¡¯s GPS to work. I think the GPS function is aided by a cell connection, but not necessary. My iPad does fine on GPS and it does not even have a SIM card in it.

I am playing with an old laptop screen and hdmi video board in a dry box.. still a work in progress.. the pi 400 has too many cords for my setup.. pi 4 and cordless keyboard/mouse ..? small enough to fit in case.. big enough for my old eyes

I agree on headgear .... use the Touchscreen HDMI Monitor 1920x1080 as the bare minimum resolution as a guide ( the 7" one I have was purchase when the R Pi3B+ just came out ..... purchased from a Chna online store that is no longer there =(

Fyi there is a program for Android that's called Droidstar that allows you to make DMR contacts with just a cell or tablet.? It's really a nice app.

Not sure what might be going on here. I am not a frequent user of FT8 but I fired it (2.4.0) up this morning and didn't have the same issues you did. Maybe try reinstalling.

Most of the fpv goggles out there are analog 480p SD...and pretty low res display making it really hard to see small text. There are some newer goggles now that are HD but I haven't used any of them.

Rich .... I like your idea and the monitor comes in several sizes .... I use a 7" touch screen with wireless mouse =)?? The one I use serves as AVNAV as well =)
