Build-a-Pi updating

Does BAP update the Raspian operating system as well as the selected BAP options?

Re: Garmin GPS Bluetooth #bap #bluetooth #gps

Your phone's GPS will work even if you have no cell service.

There's plenty of apps where you can download offline maps..you can even do it with Google maps.

Re: Adding solar flux and a index to conky

I tried this modification and I see the title "Sunspots:" below the SFI and AI entires. However, there is no number reported. I tried to find the file sunspots.txt but it does not exist in any of the directories. Also tried re-booting.

I am a Linux novice so readily admit I may have done something wrong or inadvertently skipped a step. Any help is much appreciated!

Re: Build-A-Pi Update menu

Here is what is displayed: Conky still is blurred until refreshed on boot, version is 3.0.8 but there isn't an Update selection in Build-a Pi menu.
This is after running the current update.
See attached screenshot.

@ Brian and Les, thanks for your replies. I am aware of my phone's GPS capability to work without cell service. But I would still need a connection to the Pi.

Icom 705 hamlib rigctl issue SOLVED

Ran into something odd over the last couple of days. Had hamlib 4.2 installed and working correctly with an Icom 705. Upgraded the radio firmware from 1.24 to 1.26 and upgraded hamlib from 4.2 to 4.3. After upgrading, hamlib was acting odd and not working as expected. I filed an . After some back and forth I decided to install 4.3 on a clean Pi. Hamlib worked as expected on the new Pi. Still not sure why this happened as I have never had an issue upgrading hamlib before. Moral of the story....sometimes it's best to have a fresh start :-) And for the record, Mike W9MDB, is fantastic to work with concerning hamlib issues.

Re: DUDEstar for DMR on a pi4B

Thank you all for the info and the links.

I've looked into these during my research, and it is very good that they are now mentioned and linked here for others as well.? If you have any experience and performance reports with these solutions, please feel free to email to radioks70 at the big email place that begins with the letter that comes after F, dot com.? I don't want to grow the topic here too much respecting that Jason has made it clear that it is not on his projects list at this time (unless he encourages further posts here on the subject, particularly if a DMR project involves a raspberry Pi, since the Pi is a popular subject here for amateur radio).? ?:-)

I'm giving Droid-star a second try tonight, but all towards an objective of a DMR solution on a Pi4B.? As of this past saturday, I now have my radioID and brandmeister activation.

I will be checking this page occasionally, and give an update if there is success on a Pi4B.

Build-A-Pi Update menu

I updated my old version of Build-A-Pi and noticed that I do not have the Update selection to my Build-A-Pi menu.
Tried to reload Build-A-Pi but it states directory already exist. Also, it would be nice to have a selection to know what version from the Build-A-Pi menu.
I have been running updates from the File Manager folder which is the only method available at this point.

Paul,

I didn't have a bluetooth GPS to test with when I wrote the code. I had one other ham that tested it but I don't recall the model of GPS he was using. You will have to manually connect the GPS to the Pi using bluetooth before using the GPS update tool.
