You aren't the only one having an issue. I incorrectly assumed in the beginning that it was only a minor setting that was incorrect. Looks like the problem is unrelated to 73Linux and is a Pi-Apps/VARA issue instead. See this for reference:

I bought one of the WOWE mini computers like Jason has the video. I did everything git hub to KM4ACK, copied the install commands and even went back and installed git. It all finished and just set there nothing came up for me to enter my call sign. I came out of terminal mode and just have a Linux Mint screen no evidence of 73Linux ever touching it. What now??

At this point, I am abandoning the Pi for anything other than packet and JS8Call.

I have set up a more robust PC running Linux Mint and 73 Linux. ?VARA and Pat are communicating unlike before. I am unable, though, to connect to any VARA HF gateway. I have tried multiple stations on 40, 30, and 20M at distances between 5 and 500 miles.

Listing on another receiver, I hear my station sending out the packets. I must have something configured incorrectly.

Yes I did

No transmit power with WSJT-X on RPI 3 running bullseye using FT857D and Digirig , I believe it's low/no input into the RPI but can't seem to fix it :(

I've been using my laptop with WSJT-X with no issues, I wanted to setup the RPI so I could run FT8 without having to be in front of the rig.

The RPI3 has a fresh install of 73Linux over the stock OS. FLRig finds the radio and cat control and PTT tests both check out ok.

I have adjusted the RF gain and have no problems with RX audio I am able to RX and decode but when I go to call CQ or make a QSO the radio goes into TX and I see no output power on the tuner. This leads me to believe that there is a problem with the audio exiting the RPI headed to the digirig. I had TX power once briefly when tuning.?

I have opened alsamixer and turned off any muting I can find and turned the gain down to zero to boost the levels.

I rolled back to a previous image and VARA is no longer showing black panes.

NOTE that the Raspberry Pi 5 normally requires USB-C Power Delivery protocol (PD) to operate.?
The PD spec only requires 3A at 5 volts, but the RPi5 bends the rules and requests 5A at 5.2V from the PD source.?

I'm using this one on my 3D printer for a Pi zero 2W with no problems, but that load will not stress it like a Pi5 would.

I have been using one of these in 3 different go boxes I’ve built. For the last 3-4 years they have given me no problems, and I like them because the voltage ?and amperage is adjustable. Keep in mind when you are planning your build to account for ALL the power draws — not just Pi, but fans, USB devices, lights, displays, etc.

FLRIG keys the radio.

As long as you confirmed the user & grid are set in pat configure, ignore the quick stats. Could just be a minor bug. I'll fire up a pi and see if mine does the same thing.

Did you resolve FLRIG not keying the radio? If that's not working, neither will Pat.

I will give it a try later on. I am a bit unclear about; do I go to a folder and where is the command 'export XDG_CONFIG_$HOME/.config' is supposed to end up? You may have answered the issue but I just don't know what to do where. ATB and 73, Tryg

Edit /etc/profile and add the following at the end:

?export XDG_CONFIG_HOME=$HOME/.config

Reboot

I have tried to install '73 Linux' on a new 8GB Pi5. Conky is blank and I cannot access the Pi? (or any other device) via VNC Viewer. Even though I have the official power supply (27w) I am getting a message that is inadequate. The SD card is new and a good one. I have tried to be very careful and have installed '73 Linux' on a number of machines in the past. No problems. This was to be the summer computer for antenna experiments. I have used a 3B+ until recently and it has worked grand although as of a few minutes ago I could not connect to my LAN. I am also no longer able to power down normally as in the past, I have to just unplug the psu. Am I missing something really obvious here? TIA, Tryg

This page has info on various RPi usage, and indicates bare RPi draws only 600 mA, which seems right based on my tests with RPi 5, NVMe board and active cooler, which was well under 1 amp - BUT I had no USB devices plugged in.
