Good day all?
after a BAP. Update of software on my rpi4b 8GB the following happened

qsstv was the older version as found under preferences- add / remove software -QSSTV

The problem with that version of qsstv was that when using DRM in qsstv the waterfall etc tend to freeze up with result dmr is freezing up. Only sstv is working perfect.?

the hamlib control was set. Radio model is 4 flrig,flrig and port ?loxalhost:12345. Baud rate 19200 databits 8 stopbits 1?
Dmr was tx’ing all but rx was freezing when rx’ing a sstv photo
this was experienced at another station in zs1 on his rpi as well. Same old version.?

BAP updated it to version 9.5.8 which is latest version of qsstv

now startin flrig and then qsstv is perfect. No errors. Even waterfall on dmr is running.?

but here is the problem. The sofrware qsstv does not ptt the radio. If i press the mic ptt with my hand tge audiostream goes out as it is supposed to do but the ptt does not work from software side to the radio

is there any advice what the problem is and what solution is available

i even deleted qsstv from preference side and restarted BAP to reinstall qsstv but end result the same. I think that some conflig maybe but as a newbie on rpi i dont know where else to look for problem

It was showing the gridsquare fine in Conky but now I have nothing. I'm not sure it's working at all honeslty.
I'm open to any suggestions anyone has.?

Is the green light blinking on the GPS? This will indicate that the GPS has a lock on satellites. If not, try setting the GPS next to a window. It may just need a clear line of sight to the sky.

I have had to restart Conky and/or run the configuration for the GPS again.

It seems like the GPS doesn't always start on it's own.

That is not the MakerFocus board causing that. You need to add a line (possibly uncomment it, if it's already in there) to your /boot/config.txt file

The blank screen is because your pi hasn't started a GUI yet.

I added the MakerFocus Power board to my Pi 4 so I could rum the Pi from a 12v battery. I did run the script - it appears that all it does is allow the remote to turn on the board after the Pi boots up. I am having problems using the combo with VNC as I get a black screen on the remote viewer that says "Cannot currently show the desktop". anytime I have to reboot the pi. This doesn't correct until every thing is shut down (pi and remote)? and the pi is connected to keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Then the remote viewers work (pc or iPad). The MakerFocus instructions are abysmal so no help there. Does the pi (re)boot ok with the board attached for those who didn't run the script? Can I "uninstall" the script?

You are exactly right Jason…the Digimode-4 was connected during BAP install. And to clarify, by “Allow the selection of None…” I meant “Add None to the dropdown…”.?

Obviously ?this doesn’t bite too many other people so probably pretty low on the priority list.?

I don't understand it either!
I can get FLrig running fine connected to the 'serial port' of the IC-705.
However if I try to set up the 'audio' port to use -- FLdigi for instance, FLdigi just freezes. (I'm guessing the processor can't handle it )

I can run JS8Call with FLrig on my Ic-705. It works fine -- with Conky running as normal. (CPU is at 100% permanently, but the temp is only around 52c. I have a heatsink on the processor. )

I will try shutting down Conky this evening and running FLdigi when I get a bit of time to experiment.

Had too many chores to do today.
Just finished mowing the 1/2 acre of 'grass' (it's too rough to call it a lawn!)
What with that and? finishing/installing a radio control setup for the drive and garden lights, it's been a busy day!
And now the sky has clouded over :-(
So much for our plans of a nice evening chilling in the garden with a glass or two of red and some of the delicious bread and cheeses from around here (in SW France)

Ive got a really ugly weekend starting in about an hour so I won’t be able to get on GitHub for at least a couple days. However I think this might be your best option.

Have the GPS default to a None setting and point the GPS to /dev/null?
This will definitely be the easiest to implement and is kind of the undocumented standard in the Un*x/Linux world.?

I’ll add that to your ticket in GitHub when I’m able.?

I didn't understand the issue with not being able to run Fldigi and an audio card at the same time. If you have rig control through the USB and with Flrig, and an audio sound card plugged in to another USB, is it just not running 2 USB ports at once? I run 3 on my USB extension and there are 4 available.

Also very interested in what you find our when the Banana Pi comes. That has been on my list to try for a bit, but I won't have time to experiment until winter.

sounds interesting. How do you handle PAT with the SCS-Pactor Modem. The basic code is implementation in the source from PAT without frequency manipulation (see link in my message).?
