Hamtools:73Linux OS: LinuxMint Virginia upgraded from Vanessa using mintupgrade Radio: IC-705 I¡¯m trying adjust audio capture levels so VARA-HF, VARA-FM, ARDOP, Direwolf have the appropriate input levels. ?However, when trying to make adjustments ALSAMIXER says for the USB Audio Codec ¡®This sound device does not have any capture controls¡¯. ?Any suggestions on how to gain control over the capture input? 73 de K0JNR |
Re: "ARDOP Modem FAILED to Start" Error Linux Mint 21.3 (x64)
Yeah... something's not geehawing in my setup. I have restored from a very early backup after configuring my system and, after deleting the 73Linux folder, have re-run the 73Linux script. I don't select much - ARDOP, JS8Call, Pat, and PatMenu. All of those installed except Pat. I figured this out when running pat configure and I was told by the system that there was no such command as "pat." Well, that got me thinking... I'm inclined to believe this has something to do with Mint 21.3. My RPi 5 / 8GB arrived today so I'll be playing with that for a few days and getting it setup. |
Re: MX Linux 23.1 respin and 73 Linux, good to go on my rpi 4!
Mike, I thought I would give MX Linux a try on my 8G PI5. Install went ok. Then tried 73 Linux. I installed a few programs some loaded ok. I installed Aprsis32. I then tried to add it to the HamRadio menu using the Menu Editor. After that the HamRadio folder in the Menu was not there. I then used the Menu Editor to add the HamRadio folder, then added the Ham Programs under HamRadio. I could not get VARA to install, but everything else I tried worked. MX LINUX is an easy version to work with.

Re: "ARDOP Modem FAILED to Start" Error Linux Mint 21.3 (x64)
I can confirm that in that my case on the Evolve III Maestro 11G laptop. ?That installing LinuxMint 21.0 Vanessa and then 73Linux. ?Will get everything working. ?Then I ran mintupgrade to 21.3 Virginia and the configuration stuck and ARDOP and AX.25 will run. ?Not sure it¡¯s best approach, but so far, I¡¯m not seeing any issues.

Re: ft2980 and signalink aprs Help
Kelly, CM108...I have read that as a packet to install for direwolf.? But I think it should come with direwolf.? I have a fresh install of bookworm 64 and Direwolf.? Right now searching for install instructions for Xastir and bookworm..? Most info is old and for older pi linux versions.? Hopefully when I plug in my Signalink this direwolf? will read it and give me a usable tnc/tty0 .I will have to set up direwolf.conf.? Then I can install Xastir and set it up and get going.??
This is definitely tougher than my IC-718/FLDIGI and FT857D/WSJT-X installs with the Signalink. |

Unless it's a themes, fonts, icons issue with Pat Menu (I have changed all three to a Kali-based theme with Kali-based icons and fonts)... I cannot fathom a reason why I can start ardopc64 from my home folder or from the full path but it will not start in Pat Menu.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýWhy is there a? (? .? )? in the ARDOP

That does not show up in Jason's

Your pat server (pat service) isn't running in the background like it should be. What happens if you start pat from the command line with:
pat http I'll guess it produces errors and won't start. This typically indicates an error in your pat config file. If this is the case, try Pat Menu->Manage Pat Winlink->Repair Pat Config -- 73, de KM4ACK

Re: "ARDOP Modem FAILED to Start" Error Linux Mint 21.3 (x64)
Unfortunately, that did not fix it. the issue. I tried the full path directory; when that didn't work, I tried my home directory; and when that didn't work, I tried just the command. All three failed to start ARDOP from Pat menu. Yep, I hit update on the config screen all three times.
What I did figure out though is, if I start the modem from Pat menu, after it fails, Pat starts the http session and connects to my radio via Flrig. If I then start ARDOP using terminal, it keys the radio fine. I have another issue with ARDOP using 73Linux but I'll create a different thread for that. Regards, Joel - W4JBB |

ARDOP cannot open playback audio device
Running Linux Mint PC connected to my IC-7300.? I followed KM4ACK videos and successfully have flrig and Pat Menu running.? I verified with aplay - & arecord -l that that sound card is Card 1, device 0. Re: PAT Menu fails treying to open localhost or 127.0.0.1
73Linux
Pi4B - 4GB RPI Bookworm 64-Bit IC-705 using Flrig Thanks for the replys.? So, here are some updates.? Deleted the 73Linux Folders, config.json file to ensure all previous settings were removed. Installed a Fresh install of 73Linux.? 1. The Gridsquare in Conky started working.? I had previous followed the conky fix from Jason's video, but it did not fix it.? However this re-install allowed it work. 2.? The reinstall gave me a clean Pat Configure.? Updated? the Pat config settings in Pat Menu.? However, the changes do not update Pat Configure, nor does the repair.? However, if I update Pat Configure with my callsign, winlink passowrd, grid square then Pat Server becomes active. 3. Right now, I'm focused on getting ARDOP working.? With Pat Active, I Start ARDOP Modem, Pat Launches with ARDOP.? The waterfall can shows that it is listening.? However, if I try to send a CW ID, ARDOP goes into transmit, but it does not key the 705 via FLRIG.? RIGCTL shows OFF in Conky.? I suspect this is because I don't have Pat Configure set right for rigctl.? I think this is due to Pat Settings/Config not properly update Pat Configure.? So, If I can see a good example of what a 705 with flrig looks like, I should be able to make some manual entries. 73 Jim K0JNR ReelfootJim {
