Re: pi5 73LINUX Conky box too high
I was able to fix the transparency by putting this in the conkyrc file. own_window = true, own_window_type = 'normal', own_window_transparent = false, own_window_hints = 'undecorated,sticky,skip_taskbar,skip_pager,below', own_window_colour = '#000000', own_window_argb_visual = true, own_window_argb_value = 15, Still haven't figured out how to reposition the box On Mon, Feb 24, 2025 at 8:51?AM robert nazro via <bnazro=[email protected]> wrote:

My old PI3 failed after many years of good service.
?
So I purchased a new pi5 (4 GB version) and installed Bookworm 64 bit version, bit of a nightmare not much worked.
?
Now I have switched to 32bit, also switched to X11 backend, had some GPS issues but have resolved them.
?
However I just get a black box on the RH side of the screen where conky should be, I have looked at a few posts, but so
far have been unable to get it working.
?
Should I go back to an older version of the o/s (this doesn't fee like the right option)?
?
Is there a guide anywhere on how to fix conky?
?
I am going to be mainly using WSJT-X and Pat are there any know issues with these?
?
Thanks and Regards

Curious if this can be adapted to the Mobilinkd Nucleo TNC serial DIY version? I running APRS out APRSIS32 and Pinpoint.? I believe the programs allow digipeating.? I'm hoping I can figure out how to get KM6LYW's digipi software to work with it.? Two different processors though.? STM32 verses Pi.? KM6QAQ 73

Re: Pi3 to Pi4
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThanks for this. ?I appreciate it. ?I¡¯ll try to make that work. ?I just changed the port on my LinBPQ node to point at my VARA FM on a different machine, but having it all self contained would be better.

Re: Pi3 to Pi4
If the heavy lifting has been done with the script installing Box86, Wine, and one of the VARAs then manually installing Vara FM is a breeze. A simple download and install through Wine. If you can install a program on Windows you'll be fine.? Download the program, unzip it to your drive c sub-folder under the .Wine folder. In a terminal windows type wine uninstaller. Click install a program. Go to C drive. Double click the setup installer. Click box to make a Desktop shortcut. Done. On Sat, Feb 15, 2025, 10:04 Adam KM7N via <km7n=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: Pi3 to Pi4
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThanks. ?I see the app in there, bit I just noticed that it¡¯s VARA HF and I¡¯m actually looking for VARA FM. ?And the scripts look a little intimidating to try to edit them to point to the VARA FM download and to change the calls for VARA HF to
VARA FM.
I might have to think through another way of accomplishing this.
