My setup, not trying to use a signalink, only keys for a fraction of time for the call out. Is it sending a full call out? Have you tried a P2P connection to verify beyond the initial ¡°ping¡±?

?Okay, I¡¯ve now got the radio transmitting - but SignaLink only keys up for a little less than a second. ?I¡¯ve verified with a different radio that data is being sent, but again it appears the SignaLink it stopping after about a second.
Setup: Pi with old Buster, latest Build-a-Pi, with SignaLink and 857D.
Radio works great with FLRIG, FLDIGI, and ARDOP.
Finally got AX25 packet working. ?Able to connect to the radio, open Pat menu. ?When I attempt to connect to a nearby station, SignaLink keys for just a moment, but doesn't key the radio (but again, ARDOP is working fine in that regard - SignaLink keys radio to transmit).
Radio is set to correct frequency, Packet mode selected.
Any thoughts on why SignaLink keys (PTT goes red) for a split second, but no radio transmission, using AX25 packet?
