Re: New Raspi OS - Bookworm #bap #bullseye #rpi

Isn't Buster still considered the stable OS? It def works better than Bullseye for me....tried and true.

One thing I've learned with Ham radio and software, never be on the bleeding edge for Operating Systems. Unless you are testing. You will run into more problems that you wont be able to solve easily. If you don't have a separate device to test on, back up everything before you venture into the new OS. Also be sure you can restore your system back to where it was.?

Hello,

This just came up on one of my feeds. I thought I would share it over here for a heads up.

One point of interest in particular:

"There is also currently a regression with the RealVNC server itself, which is still used in Bookworm on older Raspberry Pi models which don¡¯t yet run Wayland. The 64-bit version works fine, but the 32-bit version is not currently compatible with Bookworm ¡ª we are waiting for an update from RealVNC. In the meantime, if you do need remote desktop access on a Raspberry Pi Zero, 1, 2, or 3, we recommend sticking with Bullseye for the time being"

For me, I abide by "Mike's Rule Of Software"

? "Keep the previous version as long as you can until you can't"
