Howard, Correct. David's is 50 Ah and mine is 20 Ah. I saw mine on Amazon today for $47 on sale. My charger was also $47, but I did not see a bundle price. My battery and charger together fit in a plastic battery box. I'm using mine with a FT857D eventually for POTA. I don't have any current data but it's the same rig/battery combination a buddy uses for POTA.

Frank does use that redodo?battery for his small portable kit (FT-891 and LDG?AT-100PRO-II). I was mostly just sharing it because the price for that kind of capacity was impressive. Bioenno is most likely a better quality battery but to compare, a 50Ah from redodo?is $114-$150 and a 50Ah from bioenno is $470. Weight is similar with the bioenno listed as 13.3lb.

I got that one to go with a multi radio go box and assuming the epic pwrgate is ever back in stock the box should be able to run on AC or DC (primary or backup) power with an optional solar panel. Or at least that was my plan.?

Yes, for people like you who are very active in ARES and other organizations, you can certainly make good use of that kind of large battery system. Me, I’m right now just “thinking about it,” and would want to keep things as simple and lightweight as possible — with what I have. I would need a smaller, lighter CW paddle, and probably a headset with a boom mic. Oh, a simple, easy-to-deploy multi-band antenna would help, too. :-) I guess I’ll think along the lines of POTA.
