Hi Richard,

I'm new here, but interested in your project. Obviously you posted your offer a little while ago. Do you still have your ECO75 project? If so, please can you send me the further details and your price?

Although I am British, we are living in NL. If I would buy this from you then I'd probably rent a long trailer to come over on a ferry, unless shipping as part of a consolidated load would be cheaper and assuming that the haulier could accept the load in the form you can make it available for collection. I've been researching designs at 6m or less that I could build at home, but once launched the 75 is a good fit for my aspirations! The 75 is probably a little longer than I can cope with at home (I'm at work away from home right now so I cannot measure my space to be certain other hulls would fit diagonally) so I'd probably need to look at renting some workshop space close to home if going ahead.? In summary, it's possible I won't be able to go ahead either on total cost grounds or if unable to cope with the size, but once I have your response I can make a decision.

Hope to hear from you soon. Best wishes.

Adrian Rose

Re: Power ECO 85 Electric

Hi Jack,
building a ECO62, I use circular holes (bore holes), mostly 10 mm diameter. So of small cables (2.5 mm?) only 4 are fitting in one bore, (4 mm?, 2 cables and 16 mm?, 1 cable).
The power lines to the motors (max. 1.44 kW) are 2 * 16 mm? per pole for each motor, so 4 cables per motor. To leave the bouyancy chambers tight, the cables between bulkheads 4 and 5 are running thru a PP pipe glued in the bulkheads.

If you go for rectangular cutouts I would recommend to avoid sharp corners (Randspannung, Kerbwirkung), better is to round corners out. Or set two larger bores and cut the "bridge" between them to get an oval.

Regards, G¨¹nter

Make round holes and use a pipe¡ much stronger cause no corners to build up stressssss

Re: Power ECO 85 Electric

Gents,

All our boads needs an amount of electrical wiring, and as mine will be full electric, it will have a little more than average.
Now I start thinking of how to pull all these wiring trough the boat on a decent way....
My idea is to work with a plastic cable tray of 50 x 80 mm for example, but this need to pass all the BH's which will make these BH's weak when I cut out a hole of 50 x 80 mm, so this idea doesn't feel fine.

So I'm wondering how you did this on your boats?
Can you please share your idea's and if possible with photo's?

Thanks in advance!

Regrads, Jack

Is the same as mine.
Looking at the photo on the side attachments, they reasoned like mine, avoiding the central mast reinforcement diamond but always reinforcing it from the center with 4 shrouds that descend to the sides of the hulls.
So it's more elegant and functional.
Now I'm stopped at work rest in September we start again.

Good to hear that it was easy. This is just one of the good sides of an A-frame mast.
I have many inquiries and the question of the weight of the mast.

Thanks

Bernd

Moderated Re: kd 122 italy

The Mast is 140 kg tot. and It wasn' difficult. It's perfect!

A bit late!? I like to see the boat outside.?
You are making good progress.?
I see that you have also done a lot on the inside.
I like the pictures where we can see how to make curved parts.
How easy, difficult was it to set up the mast?

Ciao

Bernd

Hi Bernd I develop internal work but also on the mast.
The interior is missing only the central cabin to put the panels, the two hulls are ready for painting.
I raised the mast to take all the measurements of the stainless steel cables to stiffen and also the measurements of the sails.

Interesting material melange. Of course there is no faster and cheaper system to build a
boat as in plywood, Epoxy system. Nice that you can confirm that.

Any plans going sailing with the CATAPROA for this year?
If you do use the sail setup from the original Sunfish.?

Have fun

Bernd

Re: KD 860 FI

Hi Pete
I like this saying. In the end, the result counts. And you can be very proud of your boat.
It looks from in and outside very, very nice.?
I will make a compilation of your videos to show it also on multihull pages on the internet, like these.

You agree?

Cheers

BVernd

Re: KD 860 FI

Hello!

Thank you for your comments. I must say I'm very relieved to have my boat finally afloat. I wish my long lasting example can encourage other boat builders to keep on working.?There is a Finnish saying: work thanks the worker.

On these videos you can see what is inside the boat:
,

Alweereengijp: Sorry about the confusion (English is not my first language, not to mention maritime English): by tack angle I ment the angle between luff and foot on the mainsail, and that is wrong in the sail I got. The "tack angle" was unfortunately not even near 90 degrees (my son was on the helm for the very first time so I'm sure the angle will be better). And thank you for your help. I'll send you a picture you asked as soon as I get it. In you can see what I ordered (red lines) and what I got. The seller sent the (white) picture of the sail after made a note. I wish he showed me the picture before my order. Well, he promised me that this problem will be solved.

Cheers
Pete
