开云体育1-6-2-5 changes. Heard for the first time today by Blossom Dearie. Nice tune.? Sent from my T-Mobile 4G LTE Device -------- Original message -------- From: "bausin@... It's a nice cut; I like the piano solo. >> ...?does anybody have the actual chords? If you mean what changes are the band playing, you should be able to figure that out yourself in a short time. If not, you really need to practice doing it. It's not a hard tune.

Jimmy Bruno & Frank Vignola: Upcoming video
Just an FYI: Jimmy Bruno and Frank Vignola, two incredible jazz guitarists whose careers/lives were in jeopardy a year ago, just did a recording together to be released (I think by TrueFire) in the next few weeks. They played together with Howard Alden on one of my favorite guitar albums called Concord Jazz Guitar Collective in 1995 with Joe Pass's bassist and drummer. I get no personal benefit from telling you all about this, but I'm really looking forward to hearing it and think that many of you will as well. Rick |

Re: Hearing only the guitar track
I've used a vocal zapper to remove the vocals from recordings leaving just a small impression of the original vocal. The device reverses the right and left phase of the recording cancelling out the center mix which is usually the vocal. you can find them used on reverb.com and ebay.com |

Re: Hearing only the guitar track
In general, no, you can't isolate one instrument from the mix. Of course, it depends on how it was mixed.
I have one of the JP/EF CDs and it's mixed so that they are both pretty much in the center. However, Joe plays solo intros and solos throughout. Plus, it's not hard to pick out his playing despite the vocals. There is one other trick you can use to possibly help isolate an instrument. You can build a small box with 2 jacks. The input is stereo and the output is mono L - R. This cancels any sounds that are common to both channels, like bass and drums. I used this when I was copping Grady Martin's guitar work on El Paso. There were places where I could clearly hear what he was playing that were inaudible in the normal mix. |

Hearing only the guitar track
Perhaps a dumb question but something I've always wondered about. When listening to a recording, is it possible technically to strip out everything but the guitar track? On the records Joe Pass made with Ella Fitzgerald, for example, is it possible to listen only to Joe's?accompaniment? That would be a fantastic learning experience. In another context, would it be possible today to take an old Stones record and just listen to what Keith Richards is playing? Thanks?

Moonlight Savings Time
Mundell Lowe played the guitar for Blossom Dearie's version of Moonlight savings time. I loved the choice of chords/substittions and the arrangement with the drummer and Bass and the fantastic swingy syncopation is really unique. Would love to hear the groups comments. Plus does anybody have the actual chords in this version ?
Thanks? PS: Heres the Youtube clip |
