Re: Jimmy Bruno Midnight Blue Guild eBay Auction
Well, Mr. Bruno.
I think we all agree that you are a super
player/musician. Myself and a few others here
don't understand why anyone would put down
Pat Metheny. Maybe you can explain why you

Re: Searching for a Jim Hall Recording
It is Jim Hall Live, from the mid-70s. Recorded in Toronto,
if I remember correctly. It was on Horizon Records that was
either owned or distributed by A&M. Long out of print as far
as I know, and I

Searching for a Jim Hall Recording
I'm looking for a Jim Hall live recording that doesn't seem
to exist any more. It's with Don Thompson and Terry Clarke.
They play Scrapple, round midnight, i hear a rhapsody, and
probably others.

Pat Metheny
FYI: Metheny won a grammy this year for best jazz solo for
his solo on "(go) get it" from the "trio99-00" cd.
i think all the serious jazz players on this list need to
get that cd before they pass

Re: Innovation, aesthetics. chops and Glass
Yeah, I am listening to Sleight of Hand and Midnight Blue. I
dont care for Bruno's "new" direction on Midnight Blue. It
is poorly produced and has some pretty "white" attempts at
funk. Sleight of Hand

Re: Jimmy Bruno and Downbeat - Mike Stern also
I agree. There seems to be this stigma in jazz journalism
where the guitarists all have to look the same, play
archtops, wear fancy cloths, etc. I feel that Stern and
Holdsworth too, have fallen in

Re: Jimmy Bruno Midnight Blue Guild eBay Auction
None of which you say is true. Album titles are not
copyrighted. "Midnight Blue" is the name of a new tune... it
is perfectly OK to call a Cd by a title tune. There are many
CDs with the same title.

Jimmy is one of the best, most honest, talented, no BS

maybe some should consider their own selectivity.

You certainly have been active lately on the jazz e-mail. I
would highly recommend Bill Comins. Great guitars, great
sound, great guy, a wonderful value. He lives outside of

7 string guitar recs and guitar shows
Jazzers: I am thinking of buying a 7 string. I do a
lot of accompianing (sp?) and more and more solo
stuff, and I do a lot of walking bass on the bottom,
so I am thinking a 7 string is the way to go.
