Right On Jimmy!!
Jimmy is one of the best, most honest, talented, no BS
guitar player around. If Pat Martino can give kudos, gee
maybe some should consider their own selectivity.
Jimmy's instructional video is so clear and honest it makes
me smile. I must say, over the years I have had the pleasure
to meet and play with and interact on a close level with
some of the best musicians in the business. Jimmy tells it
like it is. Is there something wrong with being dedicated to
music? Listen to Jimmy play ballads, 7 string, whatever, he
is an amazing player and an asset to the jazz community.
Try thinking of Jimmy as someone who lives down the street
that plays the guitar. Don't you think that your jaw just
may drop open if you heard him? I've had the pleasure of
hearing him live several times...a total treat!
By the way, if you were to actually work through his video
lessons you could not go wrong. He is one helluva teacher.
Remember, you don't have to mimic or ape another player, but
god, how can you not appreciate the talent?
By the way, my guitar hero is Pat Martino, G-d bless him and
his dedication, caring, love and inspiration he has give to
several generations of players.
