Re: JackAl Display and Voltage Spikes
Will the circuit definitely need a pc or could it be done on something like prototype board? I am in the Uk so might it be easier to construct it from a circuit diagram? Keith M6 OLP

Re: JackAl Display and Voltage Spikes
You're right. It has consumed about 10hr/day, 24-7, for the past 18 months. I've learned a lot, and even though I've spent thousands on it which I doubt that I'll ever recoup, it's been a great

Jack, Was out of country for a few weeks and lost track of this. Is it still the plan to provide this board (the comment this morning about the dead 7" reminded me of this). Thanks for everything you

Re: 7 inch Display Destroyed $50.00 brick
i also had a blank screen.? but what i found was some change in compiling the code. go back and download and compile a known good copy of say .95 without making any changes and see what that does.?

Re: 7 inch Display Destroyed $50.00 brick
Yes, unfortunately BuyDisplay post-sale support sucks. We've had several displays go bad and they "test them" and say they are fine. Al does have the Gerbers for the protection board and I'm sure he'd

7 inch Display Destroyed $50.00 brick
So it seems that the 3.3 v on board(jackAl) regulator took a dump, even with all heat sink and fan (cool to touch heatsink)..and probably sent the 12 volts to the display.. this caused the display to

which pins are for the touchscreen? dave k7da

Re: keyboard

How about using the Files section of this group to post the supporting documents and firmware?
I am ready to buy a board but am not pursuaded that the JackAl web pages are safe. Why not use [email protected]/Files?to keep a folder for each of the build documents and previous revisions.?
