Parts sourcing
I just received my JackAl board, and am wondering if anyone has extra parts they'd be willing to sell. IDC connectors, SMA connectors, pretty much everything that's on the Bill of Materials.

Re: TFT Display
All:
You do not need the Font Chip. We use the fonts from the library. We included it on the purchase because it was an inexpensive addon and someone might want to experiment with it.

Re: Parts sourcing
I would encourage this, too, as large quantities often make a significant difference in the price. I hope this site becomes a clearing house for surplus parts, too.

Re: Enclosure Choice for 7" display
A sloped front is not a bad choice with any touch screen project, especially a ?BITX since it has such low mass. If you choose a square case, think about placing the rig on one of those

Re: Enclosure Choice for 7" display
I usually make mockups of cabinets from foam board that you can get from most office supply chains.? Easy to cut out openings and it even comes in colors!
I have a milling table set up on my drill

Re: Enclosure Choice for 7" display
Dennis,
How will you cut out the square opening for the display?? And mount the display in the opening?
Hope you will post some photos of the "during" and "after".
Thanks,

Re: Joined
Good to see a new group, dedicated to this topic, where all "JackAlytes" can share information!
Probably over time the work done here will spill over to non-Bitx platforms.

Re: Eagle has landed
Apparently it snowed in the UK and is very cold prefer the weather in sunny
California, but I have seen ice in San Francisco and snow on the hills!

Re: Enclosure Choice for 7" display
I will rough out the opening (the viewable area of the display) with a cutoff wheel in the Dremel tool and file to final size.? I print the panel layout on white, self adhesive label material stick

Hello from France,
I received JackAl this morning and I’m very happy.
Just one question about bag of parts : where I can purchase these parts ?

Re: Joined group
Bonsoir Jacques:
Alas, these must be purchased "on your own". If we had them fabricated on the board, it would have more than tripled the cost of the board. It's actually cheaper to buy them
