Re: Defects worked from GitHub Issues #github

Dave,

Do you have audio in the internal speakers of your Evolve?? Mine shows a dummy output device in the mixer.? Same for HamPC on a Thinkpad Yoga 370.

Cheers!

Jim

Defects worked from GitHub Issues #github

I just worked the following four reported problems on HamPC. Not only was I not able to reproduce any of these four, but I confirmed that these programs / components are installed and working as intended on my test platform (Evolve III Maestro laptop).

I finally got singed up, but I had to use my Linux box with an older copy of the Chromium Browser.?? Their CAPTCH implementation is not working in the latest Edge, Firefox or Chrome.? It did not work in the verison of firefox I have onmy linux box either and it is an older version that what is current.

Jeff,

It sounds like you have something on your system that is interfering with the CAPTCHA images.? Maybe another device like a smart phone or tablet might get you past the issue.? For me, Win 10 with Chrome worked.? I have no other content filters or security enabled beyond the basic Windows set on the machine I used.??

Good luck

Not for me, all I get is what I posted in my email.? No CAPTCHA images just a big check mark some text that says verify account.

I attempt to create a new account at GitHub and their signup process is all screwed up.? Complains about an invalid Captcha response yet there is no Captcha displayed.? Fire fox indicated that the page crashed.? I had the same issues with Edge and google.? Tgis is what I get:

Re: HampPC evaluation

Jeff,

You understand that this is unpaid volunteer work that I have done to create HamPi and HamPC, right?

You understand that these are also open source projects and you are as much welcome as anyone else to step up and fix issues as anybody else is, right?

I would appreciate it if you put all of that hard work you did to some good use by filing issues under GitHub so that I can go ahead and fix them.

Here is the link to file issues:

Grig:? This launches fine, but with the dummy radio as the source.? ttyS0 – ttyS15 are standard com ports.? In my case the radio is connected directly to COM1 on the computer, but in Linux this resolves to ttyS4.

That is the error preventing the MySQL server from starting up. What's weird is that HamPC is installing CQRLog as a package, not building it from scratch, so this error should not occur. However, it does, and it fell through not only my QA process, but also presumably that of the upstream package maintainer.

I'm working on a fix for this for HamPC. Please be patient and I will share it as soon as I can. (I promise it will be worth waiting for.)

Thanks and 73,

By the way, before starting CQRlog, I changed the system language to german, but I cannot imagine that it has to do with that. I suppose maybe some permission problems?

The error is reproductable. Every time I try to start CQRlog, it's the same.

If anyone else has any ideas in the meanwhile...

It would be interesting if other users have watched the same problem or not?

Re: CQRlog mySQL error

Hi Dave

Today, I could create another new USB and tried to start CQRlog just after the very first boot, before making any other changes (language, ...) to the installation.

But the problem is still exactly the same. CQRlog cannot create any database.

Strange, as with HamPi, all works well with CQRlog.

I see your log. Let me check into it and see what I can do...
Many thanks in advance. I can wait.

Here is what I'm working on on:

-Download Raspberry Pi Desktop (for PC and MAC)

-Use Dave's wiki to install from source?

Doesn't it need to be installed on a partition before being listed in GRUB?? I'm probably totally wrong, but wondering since I see Windows 10 along with Linux when I boot mine up. (never boot to Windows anymore though!).? :-)
