SX100 DC power plug question

Edited

If a DC power plug is not available for the back of one of the SX series radios, is it safe to bridge across the terminals inside the radio?
Think its pin 6 & 7 but dont remember for sure.?
Or a suggestion on where I may find one of these?
Imagine they may be getting difficult to locate.

Also forgot to ask this as well....
Since these radios were never designed to use a 3 wire AC cord, is it wise to add one?
I have read conflicting information on going this route.?
2 of my SX radios will need new power cords as they are brittle and cracked.?
No exposed wire, but definitely not safe to use.?
Curious on others experience and thoughts.

?Absolutely yes.

I added to a friend’s SX-100 (and SX-111) a three wire cord, panel mount bayonet fuse holder, and X1/Y2 safety caps on the incoming line and neutral.

Find a dead octal tube, break off the glass, and use the base.

Keith,
Cut a scrap of #12 wire and shove it in there for the short term.? Then, later, when you run across a relay or vacuum tube with octal plug, disassemble it and make the substitution.

It would be better to stick a jumper wire in the correct pins of the socket. That way if you run across a plug you can do it right.

Thank you so much for the info. I will do just that and jumper it as suggested.
its been a very successful morning on the sx100. Did manage an alignment and things seem to be working well.?

now on to pull the face off and do the clean up and restore of it. Also will finish up the remaining bees on the front of the radio.?

Its safe. If you are concerned with accidental contact with the
socket you can put a piece of tape across it. Or, simply unwire the
socket and link the necessary wires internally.

A short piece of solid electrical wire can be stripped at both ends and plugged in [carefully to the correct? pins]. maybe you need #12, or 10 ? to fit snugly. With two pairs of good pliers, you should be able to make it like a staple. Then leave it there
