SX100 DC power plug question

Keith All Messages By This Member #29721 Edited If a DC power plug is not available for the back of one of the SX series radios, is it safe to bridge across the terminals inside the radio? Think its pin 6 & 7 but dont remember for sure.? Or a suggestion on where I may find one of these? Imagine they may be getting difficult to locate.

I have read conflicting information on going this route.? 2 of my SX radios will need new power cords as they are brittle and cracked.? No exposed wire, but definitely not safe to use.? Curious on others experience and thoughts.

HF All Messages By This Member #29729 Keith, Cut a scrap of #12 wire and shove it in there for the short term.? Then, later, when you run across a relay or vacuum tube with octal plug, disassemble it and make the substitution. Cheers Halden VE7UTS

Keith All Messages By This Member #29732 Thank you so much for the info. I will do just that and jumper it as suggested. its been a very successful morning on the sx100. Did manage an alignment and things seem to be working well.? now on to pull the face off and do the clean up and restore of it. Also will finish up the remaining bees on the front of the radio.?
