Dave - I have a late model, think it is a D but can't recall now.? My biggest complaint was that the AGC and S Meter responded strongly to off-frequency strong signals.? I made the change - think it was a one wire change - and that solved the problem.? There were no negative side effects and the change is easily reversible.
