BTW, This thread, starting with the S-38, has made me aware of the
advances in design of these receivers. It is very interesting. I wish we
knew more about the designers Hallicrafters had working on the project.
While the objectives are the same the changes in construction, among
them going to an isolated B- return and isolated chassis and case is
almost genius. Must have reduced production costs considerably.
I am sure all this would have been in Hallicrafters business records
but suspect they don't exist any more.
