Locked Re: HT-3# series transmitter question

开云体育

All the HT-3# series transmitters use 6146 tubes as their finals or power amplifiers.? Theoretically, utilizing the same driver

tube and the same power amplifier tubes, they should all put out the same wattage.? However, this would be dependent on

lots of different factors.

?

1)?????? Driving power

2)?????? 6146 tube condition

3)?????? Line voltage

4)?????? DC voltages

5)?????? Component failures or values

6)?????? Alignment

7)?????? Transmit frequency

8)?????? Transmitter design

?

etc, etc.

?

Manufacturers like Collins, Drake, Kenwood, Hammarlund, Swan, all used the same basic tube lineup in their radios and they all

put out the same basic ~ 100 watts.? No one thing could be assigned to the differences in output power.? However, with a pair

of 6146 tubes as a final power amplifier with good driving power, ~ 100 watts should be obtainable - regardless of the rig.

Subject: [HallicraftersRadios] HT-3# series transmitter question

?

I've only been involved with Hallicrafters equipment a year or so,
so I have a lot to learn. From what I have read, all the HT-3#
series transmitters (excluding linear amps) use the same finals and
drivers. My HT-30 is 30watts output and I have read the others range
from 85 to about 135 watts out. Why is there such a difference in
outputs, is it the power supplies or what?
