HP8921a Cable

Hi to the group

I have a hp8921a test set, and on the rear of it near the ac mains power connector there are some connectors that have a patch lead between them,?
the best way to describe them is like a smaller sma connector, they have a external hex that you screw down until snug.?
Does any know what these connectors are called and or were I can purchase some patch leads, not knowing what they are called makes looking for them a bit hard.
Thanks in advance

Hello,

Probably you are talking about connectord for cellular adapters (part of Option 50 if memory serves me correctly). Not sure, but probably there is pair of SMC connectors. But why do you need to do something with this cable?

Regards,
Yuri.

Hi Yuri?

Thanks for the reply?

The ports i am talking about are the iq rf in and cw rf out, emailing Rick from Amtronix he believes?they are a smc connector.
The 8921a will not out a signal to the n type connector?when performing a receiver test without these two ports being jumpered ( apparently?they can be internally jumpered, but i have no idea how ) so I have ordered 2 x 6 inch patch leads smc to sma plus a sma connector?( i could not find any smc to smc patch leads ) so this should get me out of trouble.
I have two 8921a so I have been able to conduct a side by side test but only one smc to smc patch lead.

Thanks?
Nigel

They ARE SMC. They go to J55 and J56 the underside of the motherboard. On a non option 50 unit there is a simple jumper W13

This is just a V shaped bit of semi rigid coax, the same as type as used for the links (W15, W16) to the rear panel. You could make one out of the coax going to the rear panel.

The

The connections at the underside are just a stripped end of coax held in a collet. loosen the nut and you can pull the coax out. Pull it out and push it in straight and square to the panel.

Hi Robert?

Thanks for that.
