Re: HP8935 RF Gen & RF Analyzer not working
Rick, thanks for the reply. Yes, I am aware of that message. I removed them (due to age) when I took the back cover off to check the LED status on the motherboard. I just haven't gotten around to

Re: HP8935 RF Gen & RF Analyzer not working
The 40V supply is crucial as it is used in various PLLs for VCO PIN diode tuning voltage. Have a look in the Agilent 8935-E6380A Assembly Level Repair Guide page 78. I bet several modules have the OOL

Re: HP8935 RF Gen & RF Analyzer not working
The screen says your AA memory batteries are low. I would test them and replace if low. If they measure good, perhaps there is a problem with the A/D conversion that measures voltages.

Re: HP8935 RF Gen & RF Analyzer not working
So all 4 green leds are lit, but it appears the 40 volt supply may have issues according to the test. See attached screenshot.

Re: HP8935 RF Gen & RF Analyzer not working
Hi Bryan, ?? In the unit on the mother board are 4 green LED's that should all be on. They are the +,- 5Volts, 12 and 40 volts. I would check them. Rick

HP8935 RF Gen & RF Analyzer not working
Turned on my 8935 a couple days ago to check a low band Vertex radio that had been set up for 6 meters. No power or frequency readings on the RF Analyzer nor was the RF signal generator heard thru the

LM1881 and GBS8200: Diagnostics and other issues
Hi, I've built a GBS8200 converter with the well known LM1881 circuit. There is a clever design available for a 3D printed (FDM) enclosure: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4666227 (provides BNC

Re: 8920A Input Module Problem
based on what screens you have included the first thing I would look at is your generate output level.? Suspect the counter failures are due to a low level and the MISC DIAG is due to the same. Look

Re: 8920A Input Module Problem
As a happy Amtronix customer, I¡¯d say get a quote to ship it to them to look it over. They know these units like no-one else. Colin

8920A Input Module Problem
Hello everybody, I acquired a used 8920A in decent condition with what was described to me as "smelly power supply". Sure enough, many of elctrolytics were leaking and starting to damage the pcb.

Re: HP 8935 has false alarm for overvoltage duplex out
The Diodes (2) to detect duplex port power were HSMS-2800-TR1 but are no longer available. The replacement is: BAS70-05?? the Mouser elect part is: 771-BAS70-05-T/R Good luck...Rick

Re: HP 8935 has false alarm for overvoltage duplex out
What kind of diodes are they? I tried putting a load on the duplex port, thinking that might make it happy, but unfortunately it didn't help.

Re: HP 8935 has false alarm for overvoltage duplex out
Jim, duplex alarm is generally the 2 diodes right at the duplex output (in the input module).? Are leaky/open. Rick

HP 8935 has false alarm for overvoltage duplex out
I get the duplex overvoltage message with the alarm sound which drives me nuts. I am not even using the duplex out!? I mostly use RF I/O for my application. I tried measurement reset, but it

Re: 8935 Restarts Randomly
Thanks for the reply. I saw the posts about replacing those caps which I replaced on both units. The issue is still persisting. I also attached a photo of the GFCI that is installed in both units on
Re: 8935 Restarts Randomly
Regarding an hp 8935 that won't turn on, did you try replacing the 47uf/50V cap on the daughter board of the power supply? That is a common failure. You need to remove the rear power supply then

Re: 8935 Restarts Randomly
Jason, ?? Are these hp 8924C units? A common problem with the 8924C is the on/off switch. Unlike most instruments, the 8924C turns off by a switch closure. After time on some units, the on / off
