Just got back from the U of M Surplus Store (PROPERTY DISPOSITION): http://procurement.umich.edu/property-space-management/property-disposition-public-shopping
?
I was so excited to pick up a HP16601A with a HP16533A for a reduced price along with a NI DAQ 6024E PCMCIA card in a $10 IBM T42 laptop... that I had to go back in to look again for other items at a great price.? Of which I found some other items at awesome prices.? If the items have been dated older than two weeks... you can try to negotiate pricing.??
?
There are a few more HP16601A's also and I think one with a 16533A card last I looked.?
There are also HP Reflection - Transmission Test Unit's 8742A and 8743A. I don't have the other gear for... though is a goal for in the future... especially for use in wanting to track and glean satellite data. I still need to learn more however. For those on the TekScopes page that I am blocked on (this group is more forgiving and I hope would at least give me a warning if an issue), I noticed they had a Tektronix 2213 if I'm remembering correctly on one of the shelves on the wall behind the monitor shelf and I think two 500 series scopes on the lab equipment shelves.?? ? |
Someone had offered on the Tekscopes group to give me for the price of shipping, if that, a set of the POD connectors they had lying around they weren't using anymore.?

HP / Agilent 40-pin to 17-channel flying lead (16 data + 1 clock lead) PODs are all the same from the 1650, 1660, 1670, 1680, 1690, and 16600 series analyzers, and the 16510A modules all the way up through the 16752B modules. With the exception of the 16910A / 16911A modules, the 16753A and newer modules use POD sets that are not common and are very expensive, unless you use a Mictor or Samtec connection to the target. Any common HP / Agilent 40-pin to 17-channel flying lead POD set should work with the 16600 series analyzers. The final version of the system software for the 16700 series is version 2.90. For the 16600 series you need to go back to version 1.51 as the final version. You probably can't find that anywhere at Keysight. I have an image of the version 1.51 re-ignite CD if you want or need to reinstall system software from scratch on a 16600 series. |

For the 16600 series you need to go back to version 1.51 I can use a copy since I don't have the vers 1.51 re-ignite or any documentation or software. I've only powered on and looks like no errors and my IBM PS/2 Keyboard and Mouse are working along with the 15" VGA monitor.? ? I couldn't get the case off easy to clean the inside and inspect to see what the hardware is.?? The system firmware I'm guessing is ISL Revision A.00.38 OCT 26, 1994 Then ISL boots up hpux as noting "ISL booting hpux" and the HP-UX Start-up progress was all OK other than two N/A's from "Start Time Synchronization" and "Start httpd (Web Server)".? Then the HP Logic Analysis System starts leading to the Windows 95'ish looking OS GUI with a Session Manager screen loading and then a Agilent Logic Analysis System, from 1999 based on the Copyright, splash screen. Then the 16601A Logic Analysis System screen starts showing the E5901A Emulation Module (guessing thats the 16610A) as Slot 1, HP 16601A in Slot A and HP 16533A in Slot B.?? I didn't connect anything to run yet since I need to read into and acquire a POD set.? Looks like there is a Demo Center and Help section installed, so I can start there since I have no documentation relating to.? I was originally thinking I'd replace the P-ATA drive with a P-ATA SSD drive, though looks like the primary boot path is: SESCSI.6.0 with an alternate boot path: SESCSI.1.0.? So I'm thinking this is a SCSI drive system and I've not swapped SCSI drives with an SSD yet.? Would swapping the drive using an adapter even be plug and play capable since there aren't SCSI SSD drives that I am aware of??? Thanks for the feedback.?? ? ? ? ?? |

A 16600 series should be easy to open. Two T-10 screws on the top edge of the case on the back, plus two T-15 screws holding the carry handle on the side. Then the case should just slide off backwards. Maybe the 16600-97010 Service Guide PDF file isn't available at Keysight anymore. |

Looks like will be easy to service if and when the time comes.? ? Wasn't able to find the service guide or anything other than sales documents regarding the 16601A. Keysight reset the login's or at least my account and I have to create a new account.? Looks like the 16700 series has some documents, not the 16600. Do you or anyone else have a copy of the?16600-97010 Service Guide PDF file or any other manuals? ? |

HP / Agilent 40-pin to 17-channel flying lead (16 data + 1 clock lead) Looks like a great deal and I ordered from the offer accepted immediately @$20ea:? https://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-Agilent-Keysight-E5383A-only-01650-61608-AKA-54838-61608/263267395999 |

Maybe you missed a previous reply. I uploaded a copy of the 16600A service manual to the files section of the group. That is the only 16600A manual I have. File: 16600-97010.PDF Description: Agilent Technologies 16600A-Series Logic Analysis System Service Guide Publication number 16600-97010 February 2000 You can access this file at the URL: /g/HP-Agilent-Keysight-equipment/files/16600A%20Files/16600-97010.PDF |
Thanks, appreciate the link and reminder.? I have to read into the previous discussion threads still.?? Just walked back in from taking the Plextor SCSI CD drive from the mailbox I ordered since I don't have.? Are you aware of anyone using the floppy drive with a multi-card USB device?? Was thinking about that as an option potentially to interface, albeit way slower. In regards to swapping the HD out for an IDE SSD, was wondering if the IDE to LVD SCSI adapters firmware can be upgrade or if there is a hardware change required for those to work with the 50 pin SCSI hard drives?? I don't have much experience with SCSI devices and am reading into still. On another note; there are, $20 accepted offer for a pair, HP / Agilent 40-pin to 17-channel flying lead (16 data + 1 clock lead) PODs going from two sites with a third for an even better price I found today that looks like a different model: On Fri, Oct 5, 2018 at 1:03 PM Glen Slick <glen.slick@...> wrote: On Thu, Oct 4, 2018 at 3:52 PM jafinch78 . <jafinch78@...> wrote: |
