As a 'home gamer' without any budget, the orphaned marques like Solartron, Prema, or Wavetek-Datron seem the most appealing. I'd even take Marconi or Racal-Dana if they had produced a decent 7.5 DMM,

Beware of old meters displays, eg vacuum fluorescent, LCD getting dim or failed segment with age. We prefer LED display. Found the best recent meters are HP ( Keysight) 34460/65/75A great
