Re: 54620C not booting
Hi.. There is plenty of stuff on the interweb, showing how other people managed to remove the battery "Hat" of a NOVRAM, and wired in an external cell. Check these links out... NVRAM to RAMTRON

Re: HP 3585B Spectrum Analyzer How to start diagnosing "No Horizontal sweep" problem
Check your unit. There are apparently two different setups for the horizontal oscillator/HV section. One version has the oscillator and flyback all one one board, which is located under the shielded

HP 5356 B or C frequency converter for 5345A parts needed
I am looking for a 5356B or C parts unit.? Working condition not important, but I'd like the connector and possibly the case to be recoverable.? Don't care about the cable. Anybody have anything

Re: HP 3585B Spectrum Analyzer How to start diagnosing "No Horizontal sweep" problem
There is a fuse inside the unit on one of the boards. It supplies 12v to the horizontal oscillator. If your flyback is bad, that fuse will blow and you will have no display on the CRT. The board is

Re: HP 3585B Spectrum Analyzer How to start diagnosing "No Horizontal sweep" problem
Do you have an XY monitor? There is video out connectors on the rear of the unit which you can use to obtain video. You can also probe those with an oscilloscope to check for a video waveform if

Re: Requesting HP 33120A VFD
yeah I already found some on eBay for the entire front panel assembly. I was hoping someone had just the VFD to spend a little less money. (Believe or not but I had already change the front panel

Re: Requesting HP 33120A VFD
Keysight lists this part as obsolete and cannot be purchased. Keep a lookout on eBay and pick up a front display assembly or low cost parts unit (hard to do these days). [rant on] Keysight has

Re: 8711B tantalum disease
One was a 20 volt part on a 15 volt rail.? The other was a 10 volt part (!) on a 12 volt rail. I replaced both with 35 volt parts. Nice that the power supplies have current sensing and shut

Re: Modifying IC socket
I did the NewScope LCD upgrade on my 85662A, 8757A, 8510C, and a beta test version on an 8510B. They are excellent upgrades, especially as one’s eyes get a little older. I don’t recall my 85662A

Re: Modifying IC socket
Glad you solved it! Be interested to see what you think of the NewScope kit - I'm thinking of swapping out the slightly dim CRT display in my 8510C for a NewScope-7C
