Re: What kind of chip is this?
I only need the small opened part, not the rest. It simply unplugs from the rest of the module.

Re: What kind of chip is this?
I found a similar board which appears to be from a 83711.

Re: What kind of chip is this?
I would think it is a specialized microwave diode(s).
Does the manual give any hints?

Hi folks,
here is the inside of the HP83732A A8A5 .01-1GHz power detector which is part of the SLPFA module:
It appears to be passive, no power supply, top left RF in, top right RF out, pin to the

Re: 8643A Will not power-up
I have a couple of these, each had power supply failures.? Nice signal generators!? The power supplies were bought by HP thus no diagrams.
They are somewhat standard switching supplies and have a

Re: 8643A Will not power-up
On the backside near the power plug there is an easy accessible fuse.

Re: 5345A electronic counter *restoration adventure*
In case you haven't checked yet - there are quite a few Service Notes for the 5345A published on HPWiki (and in the files section of this group. Nothing specific I saw for A14/A15, but lots of

8643A Will not power-up
Had a power cut for several hours, after which my 8643A will not power-up. It has not been bothered by short power cuts in the past. Since it is such a weight-lifting exercise to remove it from the

Re: what do boxes in schematic want to tell me?
This is what the board looks like.
So, it must be those 50 Ohms tracks and stubs.

Thanks, let me see if I can make sense of what's happening.

Re: what do boxes in schematic want to tell me?
I would strongly suspect that it may be circuitry that is part of the circuit brd. such as a filter or other circuit. Some times they may indicate an encapsulated, micro circuit assy., or shielded

Re: 5345A electronic counter *restoration adventure*
The problem is that the circuit descriptions and flowcharts are not very specific or complete. It's frustrating that it asks you to look at the timing circuits in A15 without telling you anything

That's what I suspected. I find it odd though, that such details are disclosed to the public.

Harold beat me to it but here I go, anyway.
The transmission line behavior of the copper traces is an active part of the circuit. The numbers are length and width in inches.

Re: E5071C Port Coupler Issue?
With respect to the low power, I have confirmed that it is the Level Vernier Module (E5071-62283) that is kaput.? It should put out +3 dBm and is putting out -15 dBm instead, so 18 dB is missing

Re: help searching 1854-0421 transitor equivalent
Which transistor (Q?) is the one that needs to be replaced. Also, what current must it deliver and what is the bulk voltage it works from?
