Re: HP 6114A - looking for R8A, 15.82K 0.1% 1ppm resistor
I discovered them when looking for some top shelf resistors for a voltage reference (hobby metrology grade) based on the LTZ1000(A), where the lift-up to 10V relies on a very stiff pair of resistors

Re: HP 6114A - looking for R8A, 15.82K 0.1% 1ppm resistor
That is really excellent info! The pricing is not unreasonable for what is basically a one of a kind part. Thank you very much for that information. Don Bitters

Re: HP 6114A - looking for R8A, 15.82K 0.1% 1ppm resistor
Note that you can land close enough with some reasonable like 1% 50 ppm common resistors, at least to get it running and make sure that's the only problem before investing in a fancy resistor. You

Re: HP 6114A - looking for R8A, 15.82K 0.1% 1ppm resistor
They'll also be happy to make it 15.82K, as they're laser-trimming the part to exact value. [email protected]> wrote:

Re: HP 6114A - looking for R8A, 15.82K 0.1% 1ppm resistor
Ed, TCC makes bulk foil (for Vishay) in count one (literally) for about $20-40. For instance, a Z201 which is 0.2ppm TC at 0.1% runs $23.29 plus shipping. Radu. [email protected]> wrote:

Re: HP 6114A - looking for R8A, 15.82K 0.1% 1ppm resistor
Dave, Depending on how valuable the repair is for you (and hence how much you're willing to invest in this part), you could consider ordering the resistor from TCC (Texas Components Corporation -

Re: HP 6114A - looking for R8A, 15.82K 0.1% 1ppm resistor
Those kind of resistors are custom values and high performance, so a direct replacement will probably need a junked donor unit. You can buy a new custom one but it might cost a couple hundred bucks

Yes. Calling Rick on Monday. I'm confused by the part numbers. I was in fact misreading mine: it's 08291 -61020. Even with that, HP Parts has no match for that. (?) I also looked up 08920-68127 (from
