Re: HP8593A Power Supply repair
Hi, Would strongly suggest you install a 350v AC rated X rated capacitor rather than a 300v component, particularly if being used in a 220/240v AC environment. 350v components are readily

HI Milan, The CLIP is very useful.? It is nice that it includes all of the options too.? Thank you for making that available at a reasonable price. ?I guess the inductors were a bit lighter than

C8 and C9 are 0.47uF paper coupling capacitors which can leak current, which will change the output tubes bias and cause them to conduct excessive current. Those mica will fail shorted, or simply

Mica caps short from silver migration. I used to see a lot of them going bad in IF transformers when the gap got small enough to arc. The radio sounded like heavy thunder. One TV transmitter that I

Re: HP200CD oscillator
Leakage in C12 is unlikely to be a serious problem as it's a high value electrolytic in a low impedance part of the circuit and not in a position where leakage would make a difference to tube

Re: HP8593A Power Supply repair
Yes Mark, that should be close enough. Just be doubly sure that you're matching or exceeding the safety class, and staying within the same type (X vs Y). Good luck. Man I do NOT like that

Ahh, a Rifa. Bet that smelled nice. The capacitance of these line bypass capacitors is not at all critical. Just find one of the proper safety class and the right physical parameters, and it

Re: HP ET8866 True RMS meter - any info on this?
HP used "ET-xxxx" for Electrical Tools, and "MT-xxxx" for mechanical tools. These were usually one-off things or built in very small numbers, but they were often designed and built with the same level
