Would Like to say Good news but? ? Managed to get the Analyser on the bench today for a quick check and looks as if 28Volts not there. ? Also getting that smell of Burning rubber so worried could be causing more damage and need to isolate the source and start diagnosing supply. ? Can the PSU work standalone, or is it load conscious? ? Hi,
There is one on eBay, unfortunately the overseas postage makes it quite expensive. Maybe someone in the US is willing to buy and have it scanned. I'm sure some of us would be willing to contribute to it.

Re: Calibrate a 431c with 8477a?
Hi,
Thanks. Yes, I live a little bit far away from your place. I have a 431C with a 8478B head. It seem to work, and shows sensible values, but I have no information on its state of calibration. Unfortunate the 8402 is rare here and buying overseas from eBay would cost disproportionately more than what the whole setup is worth. But it still would be nice to have some assurance on the indicated values, and this is why I asked about the 8477A, as I could get one cheap from a local source. But now I read in details and it is clear that the 432 and the 431 is different, so most likely the calibrator is different. Although it may be worth to get 432 as the head is the expensive stuff, no the meter itself.

Calibrate no, get close probably. If you only have one head and a sig gen you REALLY trust you could run the cal procedure. It would be a good/reasonable indicator but not calibrated. You really need to do the meter with the range calibrator.
I used to have one but it lives in Eagle Point Or. with a friend of mine. If you were domestic I¡¯d try to get and then do the cal for you.

A/B 23 goes to service sheet 23.
This is the -5.2 V regulator and fan driver.
There should be a 2 Amp fuse on the input of this board.

Joking apart, there seems to have been a minor dump of similar Plessey Semi' parts on a certain web auction site recently.?? I was looking at a similar part number, but a divide by 10/11 chip last night.? More out of curiosity than anything else.
It's always worth putting the OEM part number into Google, and see what falls out.? You may get a pleasant surprise, sometimes...? Even try the HP assembly number, seems people are always scrapping HP stuff somewhere and "parting out" the assemblies.

Congrats on joining the modulation domain!
As you know already, it¡¯s really a sleeper. Although it works very well for viewing any sort of frequency modulated waveform, my personal favorite use for it is as an extremely precise counter. There is a reason that it¡¯s called a frequency microscope.?
FYI, adding the deep memory option is quite easy. If you search around you¡¯ll find instructions. All you need are 4 more SRAMs and to move a couple of jumpers after installing them.

Hello to all in this group, Thanks for being understanding during these
trying times.? I have not yet returned to my office in Minnesota where
the Red Devil resistors are so as you can see, I have not been able to fulfill
my promise to you as I am still in Loveland, Colorado.??
I
have orders in to get a Loveland cal on all of my 3458A DMMs which I was
planning of have performed while in Loveland being that my office here is just
3 miles from the Keysight facility.? That does not look like it is going
to happen so this will all have to wait until Keysight cal lab is back in
business.? I have upgraded the CAL RAMs on my 3458A meters as well as
some of the other parts related to the high stability OHMS and voltage
reference internal to the meters.
The good news is that I have gone
through my inventory here in Colorado and have found considerably more items
than I remember having.? I have parts and boards and many case parts
related to the following instruments and related I/O cards: 3421A, 3455A,
3456A, 3457A, 3458A, 3468A/B 3476B, 3478A, 3488A, 970 probe meter,? some
oscilloscopes 54501, 54511 and spectrum analyzers? 3582, 3585, 8754A,
8753A? and all the I/O cards for the 3488A:? 444XX series(XX= 70,
71,72,73,77,78, 91,92?and I/O cars for the 3457A.?? I have a
large supply of the Aromat relays(new unused) that I used in the design of the
4447X series of I/O cards for the 3488 should you need to replace any as well
as other components used on the boards
The 3468 and 3478 meters and
related axial leaded and ICs and custom hybrids I designed are also in my
inventory and are in sufficient supply to fill anyone's needs. In fact, the
SAFT and ETERNACELL 3.0v lithium back up battery for the cal RAM some were
looking for earlier are here in Colorado.? I can make them available at a
reasonable price of $2.00 each.? All of them measure 3.03v or
better.
Thank you and I will notify group when I am back in Minnesota
regarding the Red Devil resistors. I can ship other parts from Colroado if
needed.? I am scheduled to hit the road to Minnesota once I load up the
truck with the inventory on the 28th of April.? Hard to believe I have
been here almost 2 months when the initial plan was to be here 2
weeks.
