The old age does not lend itself to quick thinking. I just sent you an e mail offering to send you few panel nuts and did not think that you were talking about "speed nuts", but then you said 10-32. I do not think there is such a thing, "speed nuts" are super course thread, for sheet metal grade screws. Anyways, where my old age came in, was forgetting about McMaste Carr, my trusty hardware supplier. Their web address is: . What I have is G style, McMaster's P/N 90542A343. Look it up in their catalog and let me know if that is what you are looking for. If you want more than a few nuts and do not like shipping charges, I will be going to McMaster within a month and I can pick up those nuts for you and mail them. Equipment rack rail C-clip nuts
Thought I'd ask the group:?
I'm looking for a source for the C-clip "speed nuts" used in Agilent/HP equipment rack rails, such as in the N4043A ( nee 1181B ) cart.? The part is an Agilent PN 0590-0804 "NUT-SHMET 10-32-THD .5-WD STL" and is a "support part for which Agilent does not own the design specifications" (which I read as available off-the-shelf someplace).? Agilent wants 3.38 each (!) for them, and I suspect you guys who work with rack mount equipment know an online hardware store off the top of your head where one can buy a bag of them for something less. Thanks in advance, Don Cramer Beaverton, OR |
Manual for HP 651B and Advice
Hi All,
Just picked up an HP 651B and have a few problems. For one thing the unit seems to be extremely sensitive to the "band" selector switch, and the 10MHz range in particular. Switching to it results in flatline output, with jiggling finally getting it going. Can anyone with experience with this unit offer any advice? Is this a dirty switch contact, or am I looking at an issue where the osc. does not start up. This unit looks like someone besides HP has been inside with messy soldering and melted insulation! Scarry! A source of an electronic manual or "copiable" manual would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time, Mitch |
Old Nixie counters
Michael Dunn
Hi group. I have a couple of old Nixie display counters. A 5214L, and a 5201L. It did take me a while to figure out the '14, but now understand what it does in all its modes. The '01 is similar, but with the addition of a PHA (Pulse Height Analyzer). Can y'all explain this? Perhaps it's just a fancy name for a calibrated trigger circuit?

These TO220 packaged schottky diodes seem fairly common in switch mode
power supplies used in photo copiers and such now. I don't think you should
have much trouble finding a replacement. Perhaps you can find a junked
copier to get one from. The schottky diodes are fast acting and have less
voltage drop than silicon.

Motorola did a lot of Schottky and ultrafast recovery diodes in TO-220 packages. Those were diodes for currents higher than 5 A and to best of my knowledge, none of them were JEDEC registered, so most likely single source. I have seen some other manufacturers putting out diodes in TO-220, but very few of them, not an industry wide practice. Some of those diodes were pairs, and others had tab connected to one of end leads. What you have is either a pair with one leg shorted or it is a bona fide single diode. As Schottky diodes, TO-220 was used up to 30 A and for higher current they used TO-218 (a bigger package). In ultrafast recovery the line was drawn at 16 A. Hope, this helps somewhat. Need 3325A component ID
Hi, all.
I need help identifying a part on the power supply board of an HP 3325A. It is CR10. But it resembles a TO-220 transistor. There are three separate part numbers on it: 1) 84-0266 (top of front of device), 2) 8515, preceded by what looks like the Motorola "M", inside a circle (bottom of front of device), and 3) 136725, printed on the top of the device. Terminals 2 and 3 (left to right, from front) appear to be shorted. And if anyone has schematics, or a service manual, that's already scanned or photocopied, I would be very interested. Thanks!
