I can add another: I had watched for an "affordable" HP 8601 sweep generator on eBay for a long time when one finally showed up at a very modest buy-it-now price, described as "Doesn't Power Up".

I thought, "power transformer, or line switch - a gamble, but worth it."? It turned out to be the power switch!

Sooo... I'm now looking for a replacement switch (the white push button kind with the lamp inside) and still hoping a squirt of De-Oxit through a drilled hole will make this one work.

Yes, I missed the very cheap companion 8600 marker generator last week.? Sigh.
