I don't have the schematic but I debugged a similar issue on a U1272A meter. On U1272A Aerr shows up if the meter is not in amps setting but leads are in amps connectors. The way meter figures out the lead position is based on a banana connector with a split collar. Any dirt that connects two sides of the connector even with a high resistance gives the error. It took many cleaning cycles with alcohol and distilled water until it went away. Assembly comes out on a little PCB but connector can be cleaned from outside too.?
