I believe that the two diodes are interchangeable - just one is 5V filament, the other 6.3.? There's a big wirewound pot to set
the voltage.
? The replacement electrolytic is taking its time to arrive - so just for yuks, I hooked up the existing one to my Sprague TO-6.? It
seems to be reforming nicely.? So far, down to 170 microamps at 450V.
OK, the replacement cap got here.? Breathtakingly tiny.? Installed.?? The instrument is dead nuts on for DC - but too sensitive
on AC.? 1V in => it displays no less than 1.5V on the 3V scale.? I wonder if the Philco folks modified it to read correctly at low frequencies with the low filament voltage?? Gotta go read the schematic.
