Re: Flea Market 410B

I bought some soft leather from them and sewed a few layers to make a handle. It turned out, ummmm, okay. Not quite as good original but it works and looks a bit better than the belt-buckle version.

Beware that two kids of diodes were used, not interchangeable. I
have never priced them.
I was able to get a suitable handle for my 410B and a couple of
other -hp- instruments from Bretun's Village, who sells luggage repair
parts. I used leather handles with buckles to avoid having to replace
the staples. Not very expensive. If you don't see what you want write
them, they often have stuff not in the catalog or can get it.

The very high DC resistance of the 410B (122 megohm) makes it useful
for some things like measuring capacitor leakage resistance.

Hello!

?? I was at the local Electronics Flea Market yesterday and scored a
well-used HP 410B - complete with the RF probe! - for $20.
It had a piece of masking tape on it that said "Needs Work".??? It was
festooned with stickers proclaiming ownership by "Philco Ford", and
announcing that it was due for calibration in 1974.
