If you only want to listen to the essence, then go to 9 minute:
"Useful for those who check for overheating components with their fingertips?"? - yes it is possible to succeed
Many times when I don't want to take the instrument apart.; I wipe the dirty surface with a cloth with warm water and?dishwashing-liquid, ant then only cloth with warm water... LCD will not be stained
I don't like windex-like glass cleaner; - although it also means something similar surfactants like dishwashing liquid.
well, we can go to the rough side? (I avoid these if possible):
petrol (benzin) - good to remove many adhesive tape-glue, sticker-glue from surface / In my experience, sometimes it can be a problem.
diesel - I use mostly for only for metal parts; - clean from grease is exellent
aceton - it irreparably attacks many plastics, for cleaning glass or metal part; you'll probably be fine with it. :)
Let's stop here quickly, I recommend that you never keep or use chemicals that are harsher than this.
