As long as the directory has no manufacturer. I don't see any problem with a file having HP, Agilent or Keysight in the name, although if it's? the wrong name, it can be changed. But that's not a major issue. The reason I don't want HP, Agilent or Keysight in the directory names is that often instruments were made by more than one company - the 3458A multimeter being an obvious example, that was made by HP, Agilent and is still made by Keysight. Instruments with letters as a prefix are being shown after those without a prefix. I don't see an issue with that. It's the same when I search a list of files on my computer.
? You need to be realistic. Most will not have circuit diagrams. Some do mention they have circuits, or stitched together, so not always complete. I think you also need to accept that if people are kind enough to upload the documents, we can't expect them to go around naming them in the exact way you want. Trying to force people to name the files in a way you want will probably result in less being uploaded.? ?
Yes, but people can look at them themselves before reading. The best thing is to get the data uploaded. ?
A good idea, but I would not lose any sleep over that one. If someone gets a new instrument, they are likely to download all the files and look at them themselves.??
No, I think they are best with the instrument, all in the one place. Put a sub-directory "Photographs" if there's more than a couple. My main concern is to get the data uploaded.
