That works - sort of - in that just the message header shows up and
no attachments get downloaded.
However I don't know if it's my ineptitude at setting things up
(highly likely) or my choice of email client (Thunderbird) but what
then happens, if you select the email to read the email body text,
all the attachments promptly download themselves anyway and I can't
seem to see a setting in either the list or email client settings to
fix that?
Better by far to not attach vast images to an email in the first
place, if an image *is* needed - and I agree in some circumstances
they can replace a thousand words - then a few kB of jpeg/png is
fine for most things!

You can limit the attachment size - there are 4 or 5
choices of size, with the smallest being 0, the largest
infinity, and I think other choices were 100 kb, 500 kB and 5 MB
- or some numbers remotely like that. It's in your advanced
settings.?
