Re: 5350B - transmutation to a 5351B

Hi Don,

The 5350/51/52 all use the same EPROM.
There are some dip-switches on the main board that set the different options.

I have a 5351B with a newer revision of the main board, 05350-60025, where this is selected by S1, next to the XA4B connector.

I have a photo of the inside, where I just barley?can see the switch settings, the switches is marked 1-7
I think this is the settings on my 5351, but can't be sure due to bad pohoto:? 1:0ff, 2:off, 3:off, 4:on, 5:off, 6:off, 7:on??
?
I see in the SM that the older 05350-60008 main board has jumpers instead of dip-switches. But numbering should be the same.

Another difference between the 50 and 51 is the input connector, its N on the 50, but 3.5mm on the 51.

The same sampler and microwave assembly [ both capable of 26.5GHz ] is used in the 5351B Microwave Frequency Counter as in the 5350B. Is it possible to extend a 5350B to count to 26.5GHz by , perhaps, changing the uProcessor strapping, or upgrading a ROM? Has anybody done this before? I would value your comments.........................Don.
