I use the Adafruit ADS1x15 library?? .? It works for either the 12 or 16 bit version of the chip.
There are examples for the differential or single ended use.? I just use one of the inexpensive modules I got off of eBay for less than $4.
Here is a test gadget I built using it in single ended mode, with all four inputs used.
